remove gate rats

CCP please remove gate rats.

They add no gameplay yet just frustration when you trying to engage in player vs. player combat and NPC interfere and spoil kills.

Sabre pilots know it very well, you warped to gate in order to intercept another player vessel, yet there is a group of NPC starting hammering on your little sabre for absolutely no reason, forcing you to warp off and miss the kill.

How many kills did I already miss because of crappy NPC hanging around gates and shitting on your efforts from above!!!

Leave NPC where they belong, to anomalies, complexes and belts - bad enough they make player kills there a pain in the ass already sometimes, at least they shouldnt be at gates!

CCP Please add more gate rats. Specifically, incursion gate rats to highsec systems, but clearly low and null need better gate rats too, if the OP is going to whinge like this.

Aww come on, NPC like to roam too. And since they can bring capitals now they are scared of flying into belts and getting killed by the evil forces of mining boats.

I do understand their choices.

Maybe I am flying in the wrong sections of low sec space but I have never seen gate rats attack players unless the players attack them first and I have not been back into nul sec in about 6 months so I will not speak about those rats. Any way this whole thing has me intrigued must do more research.

Even if they are attacking without provocation(being shot at) it would seem to me that this is simply presenting you with a more interesting and complex puzzle to solve and you should solve this yourself instead of whinning about it and asking CCP to solve it for you.
What specifically is it that draws agro onto you in the midst of a battle with another player / players?
Do the rats only shoot you? or do they shoot everyone in the area?
Are you the one that initiates the fight by firing the first shot?

Last thought and I know you will not like this but I simply do not care, perhaps this behavior is actually the game working as intended. My thought here is that CCP is trying to make the gate and station camps more difficult in an effort to encourage you to find other ways and other places to blow each other up.

If anything i believe CCP will take the opposite approach. Not only will there be rats that gate camp, but rats that roam and attack based on standings.

1v1 at the sun? Nope.

They can switch targets on the gates, they aggress different people, sometimes they dont agress, it seems random but if you sit on a gate long enough they will red box you.

it is not.. it IS NOT an interesting puzze to solve, in the first like gaterats are part of a very annoying, tedious and cumbersome gameplay, the bad side of eve... switch ship, kill rats, switch back, being distracted by killing rats when a player escapes due to this.

its not about the risk at all, rats dont represent a serious risk (if you arent afk at least), not more risk than a splinter in your thumb or foot which I am asking to remove.

NPC should not **** up player vs. player gameplay so much as they do atm.

If this is not a troll thread, please explain why it's good for the game to simply remove a feature you personally dislike, instead of you actually adapting your tactics?

I think explained it already few times in this thread.
NPC interfering in PvP activities is a bad thing.

Ofc am I "adapting".. by going back and forth switching ships but this is tedious and annoying part of game for 0 enjoyable gameplay value in return.

Maybe you should try adapting in a different way?

Perhaps by bringing a friend, tanking your dictor, or using an anchorable bubble or even a HIC instead?

why should I adapt in a difrent way? I already adapted, if I do it in a different way, I wouldnt find it less annoying to deal with..

ofc I can bring an alt merely for killing these rats, yet alternatively I can go to forum and express an idea to fix this broken annoying part of eve, which I'm doing here in a correct subforum, like other people who express good (or dumb) ideas.

Whats the point of having rats annoying players at gates??

Maybe I are doing this wrong and gaterats that just warped out of the last belt and warped to a gate I am sitting on and think "e2 was mean to us for 10 years now, ATTACK!!", are fine.
