HI,

I have not been able to see this anywhere, my google fu may of course be off.
If a citadel is being attacked, can the owner counter with shield/armor reps ?

Thanks,

I prefer the Tim the tool man Taylor approach:

Why counter with a bandaid when you have a gun?

Shoot those attackers till they're dead.

Seriously though, good question OP. I suspect you can, but not 100% so not offering that as an answer.

Repair state

Any damaged structure that is in a vulnerable state will automatically try to repair its shields, armor or hull after a specific amount of time. Unlike regular ship shields, this is not an on-going regeneration process – it’s like a shield booster or armor repairer that would instantly restore all hit points after a specific cycle time has passed. Please note this will not happen if the structure is invulnerable.

It will not be possible to accelerate the process using any kind of remote repair modules – we do not want to favor static fleets of logistics or carriers sitting near the structure and preventing incoming damage to be applied. In the same vein, we do not believe requiring players to sit for hours repairing a structure manually after a fight to be interesting gameplay.

This repair timer will automatically be paused whenever damage is being applied to the structure. This gives attackers a chance to take the shields, armor or hull layer down before the structures repairs itself.

Thanks Tau.

Hard to keep up with the various Citadel dev blogs and know what is still correct because things changed so much during the design.

Well, you weren't wrong with your original approach. Blink

Short answer: No.

Longer answer: No, you need to keep people off it for 15 minutes and it will repair itself instantly.

Agreed whole heatedly. Training RR for Armor/Shield and even Hull on certain toons was needed. CCP just took that away entirely.

Also, why the hell can we not fit a Citadel after its anchored, we have to wait for a whole TWO MORE vulnerable cycles before it can be fitted (armor then shield). Meanwhile it sits there unable to defend itself, and these things are supposed to be for small corps (for the med). Whats bright idiot idea was that? If cits are REALLY supposed to replaced POS's, then they ******* better be able to shoot back, even after being anchored, a POS can defend itself mere minutes after getting online. Cits were lauded as not needing to be defended 24/7, fat lie that has become.

Simple, just allow cits to be fitted after there vulnerable timer just after being anchored. Not when there at full HP, either that or let players Repair cits during the vulnerable timer (just do not allow any reps to "work" if it takes damage).

Since when?

After its initial 15 minute timer it will rep itself to full armour and shields which will allow it to be fitted, where are you getting this information from?

Interestingly you also can't remote cap transfer to the citadel either, so once it runs out of cap it just sits there doing nothing.
