Hello,

I have placed the Citadel in the system. In patch notes it is said that Citadel's should be visible in Overview, HOWEVER even adding Citadel in Overview settings, pilots see it only if they get close enough, like 1 million Km from it, then they start to see it in overview.

is it a bug or should it be like this? Kinda annoying as I want that The Citadel would be visible and acceptable to everyone.

I can see the things all the way across a system, not sure why you wouldn't be able to.

Have you tried actually anchoring the citadel? Lol

EDIT: CYPH'S POST BELOW IS 100% ACCURATE

What was confusing for me is that (if you don't have docking rights) Citadels appear ONLY on the Sensor Overlay. Meaning, dark blue brackets in space and dark blue markers on the new 'compass' thing.

I was kinda expecting them to be listed in the scanner window as well. Finding and warping to them without a simple list seems a little awkward to me, but whatever, it works I guess.

My understanding so far:

. If on-grid, Citadels are visible on overview to anyone any time

. If off-grid, Citadels are visible in overview (AND in the new 'Structures' neocom menu) ONLY IF you have docking rights

. ONLY while anchoring, Citadels are visible to all, not on the overview but in the scanner window (just like anomalies)

. Citadels always appear to anyone on dscan (if in 14AU range of course) and are probable

Would be happy if someone else can confirm/deny all this, I'm not 100% sure on the anchoring part.

On-grid confrimed

Off-grid is correct, it will only show on your overview if you have docking rights, however it will always appear on the sensor overlay and is always warpable even if you don't have permisison, no probing required

Thks.

Sensor overlay meaning just the blue brackets in space or also in the scanner readout? EDIT: JUST THE BRACKETS IN SPACE

Because just yesterday I couldn't see a Citadel listed in the scanner readout (having structures filtered in, obviously), nor could I find the brackets, though there is a chance I was just missing them. EDIT: I WAS, INFACT, MISSING THEM :)

The Citadel was anchored already and visible on-grid. I didn't have docking rights.

To show Avichi you were cool?

Still bugs me how when new type groups are added that the overviews don't auto update at first-use based on the closest-type... e.g. battlecruisers should have auto selected attack battlecruisers etc.
