Joining war dec'ed fleet..

Quick question - You join a fleet from a corp that has an active war dec in progress. Are you able to freely shoot those war targets / and become a target as well, in high sec.

No, fleets never have any affect on the ability of a person to shoot another person in highsec in any way whatsoever.

If you want to shoot their war targets join their corp.

Then you have to declare war yourself. It wouldn't really be fair if you could just attack a target that was in a war with someone else just because you want to.

edit: Actually, if your fleet mates are in the defending corp, they can invite your corp to the war for free as an ally. You will be able to shoot the war targets without CONCORD getting involved, but you will be also a valid target for the remainder of the war.

Sorry, you don't get to fight in a war without making the commitment of being in a corp. Either as the aggressor, defender or as an ally.

If you repair or assist a player in a war you will become a suspect and can be engaged by anyone.
Once they aggress you, you will be able to retaliate.

You get a suspect flag and are engagable by everyone and their dog, not just the other side.

And yeah as vimsy pointed out, you dont get a free ride out of this .

Joining a war as an ally has a 4 hour onset delay. (Declaring yourself has a 24 hour one).

You will need to actually join one of the belligerent corps if you want to immediately start fighting. In many cases this isn't much of a commitment - join the corp, carry out the fleet, then drop corp and rejoin your usual one.

This will accomplish exactly nothing since highsec people tend to be in actual spaceships rather than t1 frigates.
