Anyone else think it's a good idea for ccp to implement a mechanic that would allow players to pay off their bounty at 2 or 3 times the value? Good Isk sink in my opinion, thoughts?

No. Nobody cares about the bounty system, although the occasional doofus still puts ISK in it.

Making New Eden a better place 8 rounds of Void at a time.

Funny, smartest, pretty and relevant. Pick 3.

It's absolutely pointless. Unless you're flying around in a frig blinged out with faction stuff it's not profitable to suicide gank for bounties since they only pay out 20% of ISK lost by the person. If you're in low or null someone is going to try to kill you with or without a bounty. What do you think your change would accomplish?

It IS good for driving the carebears into fits of tear-filled rage, tho.

unless bounty makes you legal target, bounty mechanics can be ignored.

I would just like to add, I thought the same about the bounties in eve, no point, but since doing AG stuff they come in very handy, one of my chaps landed 12 mil why trying to stop one gank, so not bad for 5 mins work, he was a new player so was over the moon with the pay out.

So please keep adding bounties to ganker if no one else

In a situation like that though the ganker could care less, it's not his money. Good on you for taking advantage of it though!

To the OP, there's no reason for such a mechanic. The only people who would use it would be carebears who get a troll bounty put on them to make them angry. And nobody cares about their soft feelings except to laugh at how angry they get by it. Best to leave the comic value of that in the game. :)

Assume you have a 10m bounty:

1) Buy a 50m ship (any BC will be that price range)
2) Insure it.
3) Have an alt or a friend blow it up.
4) Collect insurance and bounty.

You just paid off your bounty. I'm too lazy to look up what the insurance payout/cost would be in this case, but I suspect the net costs will be cheaper than the 2 or 3 times you suggest.

The biggest question of course is why you would want to get rid of a bounty...

Just asking to make sure.

Are you concerned about a bounty or are you concerned about kill rights?

One is a never mind item and the other could possibly cramp your style.

This is a good question.

If it really is a bounty, ignore it.

If it really is a killright, there's ways to help you with it. Or just wait till it expires.
