Did you know: If a person extends his or her arm and index finger completely, the beginning of Earth is represented by the end of the nose and the present is the fingertip. Passing a file over the fingernail once would erase all of human history.

Would it also bring back the Dinosaurs? That'd be awesome. Let's find a big finger file so we can make that happen, I just want to ride a Triceratops one time before I die, is that too much to ask? Well, probably, but at least we can ride spaceships and create piles of space-wrecks! Speaking of ancient things of a drying breed, swing by OLDS chat if you're wanting to play EVE without the EVEbarassment of your average corp culture.

Did you know: It is more likely that Americans will recycle than vote

Yeah, because when you recycle, you end up with something good at the end of it. When you vote, you just end up with more trash. Are you looking to refresh and renew your EVE playstyle? Want to elect for a gaming experience that won't make you cringe harder than your average intelligent person attending a political debate? Swing by OLDS chat today so we can start the process of taking the red on your killboard and turning it green.

Did you know: Experts estimate that in a lifetime, a human brain may retain one quadrillion separate bits of information

And if it were one quadrillion and one, then maybe I'd finally have space to remember if I locked the door or not when I leave my house. Has your brain lost a few tritrillion (totally just made this word up, btw) of "how to play EVE with decent human beings" information? Swing by OLDS chat in-game today so we can try to reboot your EVE experience.

Did you know: Recent scientists suggest that labeling a wolf “alpha” or “omega” is misleading because “alpha” wolves are simply parent wolves. Using “alpha” terminology falsely suggests a rigidly forced permanent social structure.

Relatedly, recent studies showing human males who use the term "alpha" and "beta" are simply friggin' idiots. Using such terms suggests a rigidly forced permanent social disorder. Do you consider yourself "red pill" or "blue pill" and want to join a corp? Well, BY NO FRIGGIN' MEANS should you join the OLDS chat channel in-game, as we don't recruit meathead shite-birds that spout such nonsense.

Did you know: Emotional abuse is similar to brainwashing in that it attempts to systematically wear away a person’s self-confidence, self-worth, and self-concept. Emotional abuse can take many forms, including using economic power to control, threatening to leave, degrading, belittling, continually criticizing, name calling, or shouting.

Also known as: The Mittani's leadership style. Are you in an emotionally abusive relationship with a bad corp or alliance? Looking for a corp that will treat you right and tell you nice things? Like, "don't you look great today!" or "Hey, nice job there pal!" or "Y'know, why don't we undock today?" If so, swing by OLDS chat today so we can find you a spot in our battered capsuleer's shelter.

Did you know: The British wear paper crowns while they eat Christmas dinner. The crowns are stored in a tube called a “Christmas cracker.”

So I use a random facts trivia site to generate these stupid facts and then I write a little blurb. I have no idea if that fact is true. I know I want it to be true. The idea of Brits making paper crowns to wear while they eat Christmas Dinner is rather hilarious. Hungry for something different? Tired of self-serving potentates filled with spacey haughtiness? Swing by OLDS chat today so we can try to serve up a filling EVE experience.

Did you know: In Lexington, Kentucky, it is against the law to carry an ice cream cone in a pocket.

Shouldn't it be? You'd have to be a psychopath to carry around an ice cream cone in your pocket. Basically that's just a law making being a psychopath illegal. Speaking of entities where psychopaths are not tolerated, hey, our corp! What a segue! Swing by OLDS chat today in-game if you're of a reasonably stable personality who knows how to eat an ice cream cone properly.

Did you know: A cat’s brain is biologically more similar to a human brain than it is to a dog’s. Both humans and cats have identical regions in their brains that are responsible for emotions.

Certainly something that makes sense since my emotions line up quite well with a cat, at least when it comes to EVE. "That thing is moving! Kill it! Okay we killed it! Let's kill more things!" Hm, that's perhaps not something to tell a therapist, I'd imagine. Do you want to land on your feet in a corp that won't leave you meowing for attention? Swing by OLDS chat today so we can add you to our little feral pack.

Thanks for the confirmation, Vartan.

Did you know: British people actually do indeed create paper crowns to wear while they eat christmas dinner. Holy crap, that's hilarious.

I had always wondered if America were truly better than Great Britain, but now I know it is. Swing by OLDS chat today so we can celebrate the dominance of the new world over the old, which has just now been finally confirmed.

Did you know: Stephen Clarke holds the record for the world’s fastest pumpkin carving time: 24.03 seconds, smashing his previous record of 54.72 seconds. The rules of the competition state that the pumpkin must weigh less than 24 pounds and be carved in a traditional way, which requires at least eyes, nose, ears, and a mouth.

Because I put way too much effort into these bumps, I went and dug up the video of this garbage. Seriously, the other guy was faster but forgot the ears. And lord knows, without the ears, a pumpkin is apparently truly not carved. Also, if you're like me and would throw all of these lame pumpkin people into an ocean if you were suddenly made Dictator of Earth, feel free to swing by OLDS chat today so we can help harvest you a new EVE experience.

Did you know: The first Google storage was made from Legos. Google needed an expandable and cheap way to house 10 4GB hard drives.

Which really is all one needs. If you're doing something that requires more than 40 gigabytes, you're probably just trying too hard. Looking to build up your corp experience by hanging out with a bunch of dirty casuals who end up making tryhards like Rote Kappelle mad at them? Swing by OLDS chat today so we can see if the holes in your EVE experience fit snugly with the pegs of our little EVE home.

Did you know: William Hitler, a nephew of Adolf Hitler, was in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He changed his name after the war.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to be named William either. *rimshot* Hey, you thinking of changing the name of the corp you're in? Swing by OLDS chat so we can work on providing you with a much better moniker.

Did you know: Each year in Canada, about 225 men fall overboard and drown as a consequence of standing up in a boat to urinate overboard

This is a very specific stat. It makes me wonder if there's someone in the Canadian government whose task it is to collate this stat. Maybe a secretary of deathkeeping or whatnot. It makes me paranoid to fall off a boat in Canada and die, because how do they even know that the people were attempting to urinate rather than say, fish, or... look at a sea-moose or some other fantastical Canadian creature? No sirree, I would not want to be libeled in death as "just another idiot pissing off the boat and dying", so I think I'll play EVE rather than hang out on Canadian boats. Do you also share this very specific fear of being on Canadian boats, hence you fly around on internet spaceboats? Great, swing by OLDS chat and we can live a much safer life of peeing in toilets in-between murdering people in e-space, as god obviously intended.

Did you know: It is against Michigan state law to tie a crocodile to a fire hydrant

This factoid on the trivia website I use for these is listed in the category: "Strange and Funny: 53 Crazy Laws." Yet, that is not a crazy law. Do we want to live in a society where you walk down the street to see people tying up their pet crocodiles to fire hydrants? This could not possibly be safe. Kudos to Michigan. If you'd like to take a bite of the relaxed older pilot life, swing by OLDS chat so we can anchor your EVE experience with random killmails.

It is with regret that I must inform anyone visiting this post that, OLDS is no longer open and running.
Most members of OLDS moved into "We the Mightily Distinguished" if you want a similar culture from members who have flown with Xavier for years we do our best to replicate it. PvP focused, USTZ.

Public channel: [WMD] (with the brackets)

Thank You,
