Back Buffer Trick to Increase UI Scale on Lrg 4K TV No Longer Works

I use a 50" 4K TV for my main computer screen, and found a trick to increase the size of the UI so it's usable on a large 4K panel. By default, I had used Win10's scaling feature to set my text scaling to 250%, so my eyes wouldn't bleed trying to see small items on my desktop. This would (pre-Monday) force the Eve Client to display my fixed window 3840x2160 game resolution at 2.5 times the screen size. AKA I would only see the top left half of the client on my 4K screen. I dug around the forums and learned about the back buffer settings in the core_public yaml file. By dividing my res by 2.5, if I set the back buffer to 1536x864, I could keep my scaling up, and my game client screen would basically display at 1080p scaling on my 4K TV. It was perfect.

On Monday I had to take my TV down to get a panel manufacturing defect fixed under warranty. The tech brought the wrong part, yada yada, I didn't have access to the TV until tonight. So, I reset my display settings in the game for 1080p and played on my smaller second monitor last night. I got the tv back up tonight, and went back into the yaml file to set my buffer settings back so I could play on the 4K TV again... and the buffer settings are no longer working like they did before. If I set the buffer to the 1536 settings, all I get is a tiny fixed window in the upper left corner of my display. If I set the fixed window to the 3840 setting, even with the 250% scaling set in windows, the client no longer stretches well passed the boundaries of my display. I figured something must have changed in the Citadel release, or I had some setting wrong on my PC. Remembering that I had used the back buffer trick on my SiSi profile, I logged in SiSi... and everything was perfect, just like I had left it. The client res was set to the 4K res, and the back buffer settings caused the smaller rendering resolution to stretch back out, making my "1080p" client.

I've spent the past hour trying different options, but I can't seem to get the TQ client to scale "properly." I've copied over my yaml file from my SiSi profile, that just causes the small window to appear. It seems like once I changed the settings on TQ, I can no longer get the trick to work. I'm too scared to try changing the settings on SiSi, to see if it only affects TQ. Has anyone else used the back buffer in this method? Anyone else run into this problem? If you are using this trick, is anyone brave enough to try changing your client display settings, and then changing them back? I don't want to submit a bug report until I know for certain it is a bug...
