i find rumors quite hillarious at times

im sure you all will find this one funny as well


recently, I was told that "those guys" in the "north" were getting their ass's handed to them .. and they have come up with a new way to create mass chaos... they were gonna "disband" and reform as hundreds of small corps in high sec... and war dec all of high sec...

now that would prove quite entertaining to watch

That would be an utter waste of ISK. Most HiSec corps would just stop playing for a week. Most aren't large and can't afford a war. Other HiSec corps and white knight sorts might actually hand them a serious fight. It will also bring spoilers into the match. I can think of a half dozen ways right now to completely mess up such an attempt. NullSec doesn't work like HiSec.

Wars are dirty messy things. Assuming it was possible for anyone to just waltz in to HiSec, War Dec everyone, and assume there wouldn't be nasty repercussions would be a serious strategic mistake, probably along the lines of Hitler thinking going after the Soviets before he was dipping his toes into the Atlantic from an Irish shore level of strategic mistake.

They seem to have done the disbanding part well.

Was there a timeframe on this plan?

Agreed. Goons are also wealthy enough to lock-down highsec in this manner for a sustained period of time.

Why not just wardec a bunch of corps while in GSF?

i am not fully up to date on the war mechanics / costs... but i recall something about the more wars you have the more expensive it gets per war... thus could in theory keep it cheaper by haveing hundreds and hundreds of 5-10 man corps just mass war dec any and everyone they could

(rough numbers... 3000 players, go to 5 man corps = 600 corps, and those 600 corps do 5 war dec's each, thats 3000 corps in high sec wardec'd )

IF this hypothetical scenario were to happen... vast bulk would just jump back to NPC corps ithink

I think their common mantra goes something like 'We aren't out to ruin THE game, we're out to ruin YOUR game.' So, can't disagree with your statement based on that mantra.

However, you could probably attribute their downfall to the same reasons... so karma is the real bit**!

ass backward,
the cost scales with the size of the target corp, between 50mill -500mill per week.
the number of outgoing wars has no bearing whatsoever.

You better believe it. When I first hatched into EvE, I thought selecting the Minmatar race would automatically put me permanently at war with the Amarrians.

Would solve the "drop to NPC corp to escape wardec" problem quite nicely tho Roll

Sounds plausible. Keeping members entertained, true believing, and not wandering off into "nothing to do in EVE" territory is worth quite a bit. Bread and circuses-- if you have the bread (ISK) stockpiled, the only other thing is to keep providing the circus.

I would believe this rumor. My corp has been war dec'd by an alt corp, of an alt corp of CFC. Five guys acting all tough against poor little ole' me. So I decided to take up golfing instead of playing EvE. Meh... who needs EvE anyway, cya next winter. Cool
