"Your signature has been locked"

Today I noticed that, dunno since when, my signature is not displaying on the forums. I've entered the forum configuration and there is a message stating that "your signature has been locked". I have looked at another character in the same account and her signature interface appears to be working (but that character didn't had any signature before Citadel)

I haven't received any warning or notification from the fourm adiministration so now I wonder, is this some kind of error of the forums? Has my signature been locked as a disciplinary action for breaking some rule? If so, why haven't I been notified?

(I have reasons to think that maybe CCP wouldn't like my signature, but as far as I know, it didn't break any rule... What? )

Who and how should I inquire about this matter...?

Discussing forum moderation is against the rules. I suggest you file a ticket to figure out what happened and deal with CCP privately as they want you to.

But if I had to guess, your signature as I recall "impersonated" CCP developers by putting words into their mouth that they didn't say. Be thankful you only lost your signature as people have been permabanned for that offense.

Well, it would be discussing forum moderation if it was an action by forum moderation, but then I would have been notified. So far it could be just a forum error (this is why you notify users about any disciplinary actions, btw).

As for the signature, if it was the one I think it was, it didn't impersonated anyone. At least not from my culture with 2,000 years df tradititon on rethorics.

This will be locked but mine once was locked too without warning. You don't get warnings for this, just locks.

It was a direct quote from the CSM minutes when the developer responsible for the giant mess that was the 1st of many, many iterations that had to follow to unmess the "Unified Inventory" when it was introduced. Something about he being responsible entering the room and saying sheepish, yes I'm the guy.

CCP doesn't like to be reminded of fail or be confronted with criticism on their own board. You should know that by now.

Hence everybody flees to reddit, twitter and what not as that is the only place you can openly talk about all things EVE.

They did a similar thing with mine a couple of years ago, i had something about soilent green and a link to that massboimassinglegion protest thread on the dust forums,

Someone at ccp evidently didnt apreciate the humour (though ill admit it was in poortaste) and removed it entirely,
no nitification at all but then mine wasent locked so theres that.

Thinking about yours though i coud see someone taking it az a personal attack on segull so im not suprised, i dont like that you had it locked without being informed though, imo thats unprofessional.

Yes it was something about CCP Seagull not having plan B. And supposedly some players asking about it.
So maybe it was removed for rumor mongering.

But then plans always look different when it comes to realization.

Well I'll take the comments as a certainty enough that a disciplinary action has been taken without a notification. That's nothing I've seen done as moderator, administrator and owner of discussion forums, but hey: It's CCP. They always have a special way for everything! Lol

As for the signature itself, it portrayed a rethoric engagement with a literal quote from CCP Seagull, players stating their lack of interest on what was quoted and requesting a Plan B, and then CCP Seagull denying the need for an alternate plan (rethorically).

Since I had some loose plans to update that signature, I will just use my new signature in some other character.

Guess this thread can be locked and so.

The forum moderators do not alter/remove signatures if I recall correctly. That's up to the GM's.

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

Hi! Just wanted to say that none of ISD, CCL included, have the ability to modify your signature. Your only solution is to file a petition about it, because that's the only way you'll be able to get an answer. Hope that helps!
