Something needs to be done with escalations...

Actually, the chance of getting an escalation is far too high. This results in extremly cheap factionmodules(some even cheaper than T2 modules) and that many people use these modules.

As you see, a Corelum C-type medium repper goes for 29 mil in Jita, and fitting one of them on a Brutix... why not, its cheap and better than T2.

I find, that this has to find an end, factionmodules are better and MUST be more expensive. I remember the days before the phoebe release, which increased the chance of getting an escalation to 5-6% and the prices of deadspace loot fell by 50% in the first weeks after that release. The reason given back then was that newer players were unaware of that, but why not update the message you get?

1. The message from escalations should have more content than just "your scanner picked up a transmission..." it should contain, Where the site spawned and it also should have a button to set destination to that system without having to open the journal every time. Escalation should be accessable the same way as missions are, add them to the right click dropdown menu and add a new tab "expeditions" with the sites listed while in the system.

2. Anomaly names should be changed depending of the variation. Each anomaly has 2 variants, an easy and a harder one. To better distinguish them, change the names of the easier variants to "standard" (e.g. the Refuges with the gas silos become like Standard Guristas Refuge) and the harder ones to "upgraded" (e.g. the refuges with the blue cloud become like Upgraded Guristas Refuge)

3. Reduce the chance of getting an escalation and factionspawn to 2% for standard sites and 2.2% for upgraded sites. Named sites have a lower chance, but they escalate to much higher DED sites: 1.5% for hidden, 1.75% for forsaken and 2% for forlon sites. This should actually make it more worth to scan for DED sites rather than running lots of anomalys with smartbomb battleships and autotargeting missile tengus or afk ishtars for escalations. Also, an anomaly has either a factionspawn or an escalation, but never both.

4. Universal escalation system for each anomaly:
Ded 1 and 2 become static again (they despawn as a whole and respawn in the same system after 60 min)
These sites are shown as a beacon in overview and as soon someone killed the final overseer, the beacon disappears and the site respawns elsewhere in the system after 60 min

Burrows escalate to DED 3
Hideaways and refuges escalate to DED 4
Dens and Yards escalate to DED 5
Rally points and forsaken/forlon/hidden hideaways escalate to DED 6
Ports and forsaken/forlon/hidden Dens escalate to DED 7
Hubs and forsaken/forlon/hidden Rally points escalate to DED 8
Havens escalate to DED 9
Sanctums escalate to DED 10
forsaken/forlon/hidden Hubs escalate to either DED 9 or 10

This makes sites, that have never been accessable throught escalations accessable. Examples are the Serpentis phi outpost or the guristas guerilla grounds.

5. Anomalys should spawn regardless of truesec in empire space. Dens only spawn in .5 and .6 systens, burrows only spawn in .9 and 1 systems. They should actually spawn everywhere regardless of the security satus, only diffenentiate between hi, low and nullsec. (What do you think of allowing named Dens in hi sec and named hubs in low sec?)

6. Ded 5 complexes should become scannable in hi sec. All DED 5 in hi sec came from Dens, and that was mostly the only reason for running Dens. To compensate the reduction of the chance to get escalations, make DED 5 complexes scannable in hisec(same scan strengt as vigils). The same should happen with DED 7 and 8 complexes in Low sec, because anomalys where you can get the escalation to these sites spawn there.

7. Every DED complex should have at least one additional NPC that can drop faction loot. Most DED 7 and 8 complexes have faction battleships, but all the other deds only have the final overseer, that drops the good stuff. This also makes them more profitable and compensates the reduced chance of factionspawns in anomalys a bit.

8. Merge the DED 9 and the Angel/Serpentis DED 6 togheter to one complex. These complex contain multiple escalations(like a unrated complex) which makes them annoing to run. Instead of so many escalations, connect each part of the escalation chain togheter to one complex with acceleration gates. This makes them more worth to run

I hope you like these ideas, because at the moment it is simply not worth scanning for sites like the Guristas scout outpost, because you can get more with escalations. Also the prices of these modules don't make low end sites worth running, most of the loot is worth less than tech 2 variants. The name changes makes it easier for newer players to figure out, which variant of the refuge is the harder one and also ensures, that harder sites have a better chance (10%) for factionspawns and escalations. It also ensures that fitting bling on your ship is actually a risk rather than standard. And the updated escalation messages make these sites more accessable rather than having to open the journal every time you get an escalation.

I hope with that we see more peoples scanning for DEDs rather than just instafarming hounderts of anomalys

How is Hidden, Forsaken, Forlorn not distinct enough? They already indicate clearly which sites are harder than others. What it requires is a quick research into the anomaly system in EVE or asking a question to another player.
(That aside, Hidden Hubs are harder than Forsaken Hubs even though they are the easiest anomaly. Forlorn Hubs are a whole lot harder then Forsaken and even certain Havens. Forsaken Rally Points are easier to run than Hidden Dens. You get my drift?)

How does this chaos of escalations make the process of escalations any clearer or better comprehensible?

The point of these escalations is it to make people move to other security level areas in space to expose them more to other players and less restrictive space. I do not see how making these complexes available in High sec and Low sec respectively would benefit that goal.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

- As you know, each anomaly (the unnamed one) has two variants. For example the sanctum has a station and a ring variant. The goal is to give each variant a separate name (ring sanctum becomes standard and station one becomes upgraded)

- This is no chaos, this makes sites, which were never gotten from escalations (like serpentis phi outposts or occupied mining colonys) available throught escalation rather than having sites without escalations. All the angel hi sec anomalys escalated to DED 5 and all Serpentis hi sec anomalys escalate to DED 3. With this each pirate faction gets the escalation code from the guristas.

- actially Dens escalate to DED 5 sites and they spawn in Hi sec, (with the changes named hideaways can give DED 6 in hi sec) the chance gets reduced, this is still, that you can get at least a few hi sec DED 5 under competition.

Personally - I wanna see the current PVE experienced scrapped and redone.

Burner missions
Drifters
Capital rats
are the best thing to happen to PVE in a long time.

But the PVE needs to be tied to the Empires/pirates/SOV holders when it comes to lore - and through those groups back to concord (if it applies). This would mean that no matter the combat PVE a player takes, they show their support to one group or another. There would be no missions, no combat anomalies, etc. each player based on their actions and choice would be given combat tasked (fed via a probe scanner like interface) that would would list sites for the player to go after. These sites would be dynamic and would also have ratings on how hard they are (1-10)

"The Lord loosed upon them his fierce anger All of his fury and rage. He dispatched against them a band of Avenging Angels" - The Scriptures, Book II, Apocalypse 10:1

This is intentional. CCP increased the rate of escalations a year or two ago.

I see no problemm with "rapid" escalations right now.
Faction and ded loot is cheap and people can allow it to use even in PvP, it brings more fun and possibilities to the PvP
