Check out the Citadel expansion trailer, and the Citadel feature tour video!

EVE: Citadel brings the new Citadels, gargantuan player-created cities in space, which deliver the means to a deeper and more meaningful control over space. We also have a massive set of changes to capital and supercapital warfare, including deadly new superweapons. Additionally we see completely new Force Auxiliary capital ships as the new capital logistic backbone. Carriers and Supercarriers receive brand new fighter gameplay together with a full overhaul of their roles and bonuses. Capital NPCs, valuable Drifter NPCs in wormholes, an improved tactical camera mode, and a ton more is introduced.

The full details of all changes and improvements are available in the patch notes.

For general discussion of this expansion on the PC, please use the general feedback thread.
Please report issues with this expansion on the PC in the PC issues thread.

EVE is still unexpectedly locking up and freezing under both Cider and Wine.
I'm not trying to be cynical here, but as the vast majority of Mac issues (including the really serious ones) seem to continue fall under the "we're aware of it/can't do anything about it" category, I'm only half expecting a response. To re-cap...

• There is no high anti-aliasing option in the graphical settings menu
• There are no shield boost or armor repair effects for Mac users, including reactive armor hardeners
• The current shield hit effects are not on par with the PC version and do not change color to reflect damage
• Running under a high shader graphics setting typically results in cloaking and Bastion artifacts that are highly pixelated
• Lengthy delays and repeat commands (opening/closing) required for opening the fitting window
• Regional Market glitches, including but not limited to laggy responses, infrequent item updates (routinely returning no items), populating searches with the wrong item requests - and the list goes on

And last but not least, the aforementioned instability and crashing issues. These are a particular concern as your GMs have stated I will only get one reimbursement for any lost ships - despite the fact this happens no less than 2-3 times per several hour gaming session and at completely random intervals. I and many other Mac users have been unsuccessful trying to resolve this despite taking actions like:

• Not updating to the latest OSX version but keeping the current OSX version up-to-date
• Closing ALL other applications other than the EVE launcher and client
• Performing repeat shutdowns, restarts and network resets (both software and hardware)
• Disabling music and most audio (I guess there's no sound in space anyway)
• Enabling/disabling both multithreaded OpenGL and Resource Cache
• Dropping down to minimal graphics settings and disabling most effect options
• Tweaking the config file to improve frame rate and performance (why you guys are still running the default 256MB/128MB video RAM configuration for Cider is beyond me)

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

My primary focus now is to improve the experience on the Mac, and offering the option to run under Wine was the first step in that. I feel I have a better chance of fixing issues in Wine, and getting fixes out quickly. I will require your help, though, especially with stability issues that may be difficult (or too time consuming) for me to replicate inhouse.

The first step is to get me logs - in the launcher settings, enable 'Run clients with logging' - this will start LogLite when you hit play. If you experience a crash, go to LogLite, save out the logs and file a bug report, giving as much detail as you can (context can be very important) and attach the log file. Put my name in the title so I get the bug report routed to me promptly and I'll do my best to figure it out.

I can not run the game from the new launcher.

The game starts, I see the "loading" modal, and "Done processing bulk data", then the screen is blank. I *think* it's trying to load the intro video. (the new eden intro video) but the screen just remains blank. I then use the OSX "Activity Monitor" to "force kill" Eve Online to get it to exit.

Running under the old launcher works fine.

Here is the log http://thrawn01.org/files/eve-new-launcher-thrawnx.txt

It is possible to reliably get the client to freeze when using two accounts.

Steps to reproduce
1. Start client on first account
2. Start client on second account.
3. Log both clients into a station
4. Logout of client for first account
5. Client of second account will freeze

If you want the log for this behavior let me know, but I assume this is a reproducible issue.

Can we get the old shield and armor effects back in the interim? I've enabled "Run clients with logging" and when I get the next crash or lockup I'll file a bug report as you requested. Right now I'm running into so many post-Citadel glitches that I'm not sure that I should be adding to the growing list of massive items that have already been reported.

I already reported this in the main thread, but this just popped up when attempting to activate the Garmur Waschi Uprising 'Combat' SKIN (interesting enough, there's no preview either): Invalid item - Garmur Waschi Uprising 'Combat' SKIN (Permanent) is not a SKIN license.

I hope they sell Red Bull in Iceland...

I'm sorry, this is a known issue with Cider under the old launcher. The clone maker was a workaround, but this is not an issue with the new launcher.

We should focus on figuring out why you are having issues with the new launcher - that is the way forward. Have you tried the Wine wrapper with the new launcher?

I switched to the Wine Wrapper in the launcher, (current) and the game started, but the client was very laggy, appeared to run smoothly for a bit, then very choppy.

I switched back to cider, and the game ran fine. =/ (the launcher crashed the first time after switching back to cider) but after restart the game is running fine under the new launcher.

I found the following in the osx console from cider, not sure if it's related to the launcher crash or not.

Well, that didn't take long (undocking from Jita 4-4)... Bug report in-progress.
Addendum: You guys may want to change the attachment size limit (15MB) as this log came in at 19.2MB. I cut it in half and sent the latter portion to you (hopefully that's the part you were after).

Hello,

I went to activate a jump clone, and first off it wouldn't let me pause my skill training right away, it just did nothing, then I closed it and opened the skill queue again, and it didn't pop up, it showed it as it was minimized in the neocom. When I clicked the neocom to open the window up, no skills show in the skill queue even though the timer shows that there are skills. I undocked, redocked, opened, closed and was finally able to pause my skill queue to use my jump clone. Now that I've used it I cannot reapply my skill training. So I'm stuck with a paused skill queue... Hopefully this gets fixed soon?

Not sure if this is an issue people who don't use mac have but I figured since that's what I'm using that's what thread I should use.

Thank you!

EDIT: I also can't close the skill queue. Other windows also seem to have trouble opening now that the queue is stuck open. And I have tried restarting the client, and to no effect.

EDIT 2: I tried to jumpstart the skill queue by using an uninjected skill book and hitting "Train Now To Level 1" and I got the notification "No Skill In Queue" when in fact I have about 115 Days worth of skills. Again, thanks for any help!

So far: running with old launcher on Macbook Pro, used to be stable but now after Citadel I've had 4+ hard freezes (had to boot).

Will switch to new launcher and see if that helps.

I have three issues to report. At this time I haven't filed bug reports because I'm having trouble producing any kind of log data for these. I'm running 10.9.5 on a Mac Pro, dual 4-core procs and 12GB of RAM, using new launcher with cider.

First and biggest one is occasional client crashes. The client hard freezes. All have happened in space, all have happened with two clients running, mostly while taking gates. Seems to be related to the "overview not updating" bug, at least the overview hasn't been updating properly previous to all these crashes. Also I have log lite running and nothing at all shows up there. Console also shows nothing. It doesn't show up as Not Responding in the Force Quit menu, even though it is not responding. The only even remotely related entries I could find in Console are:

28/4/16 22:17:40.309 cider[1672]: The function `CGFontSetShouldUseMulticache' is obsolete and will be removed in an upcoming update. Unfortunately, this application, or a library it uses, is using this obsolete function, and is thereby contributing to an overall degradation of system performance.

and

28/4/16 22:20:25.000 kernel[0]: process cider[1657] caught causing excessive wakeups. Observed wakeups rate (per sec): 185; Maximum permitted wakeups rate (per sec): 150; Observation period: 300 seconds; Task lifetime number of wakeups: 45010

Not much to go on there, alas. The second issue, not quite so dramatic, is that almost every time I undock it takes far longer to load than it used to. The whole screen sits blank, with the white bars on the HUD drawn but the capacitor in the center empty, for longer than the undock timer. This one worries me because one of these days I expect to get killed while my UI is still waiting to finish drawing.

The third one is probably not going to get fixed, heh. Whenever I have more than one client open I can't use the IGB, it draws its frame but the window is black, then if I try to move the window is goes unresponsive and the client eventually crashes out. Sometimes with a Buffer overrun error.

Anyways, if you want me to bug report any of those, or send you the god awfully long log report of the "excessive wake ups" saved, please let me know. Bit thin on info here I know.

Edit: The first two bugs are completely new as of this patch. The IGB problem predates it, although it seems to be worse now in that it's 100% failure instead of intermittent. And I'm not using wine because it failed completely the last time I tried it.

Hi,
i'm having an issue with the old camera.
Reason why i still use the old camera option, is because i liked how i could move the tracking around. With the new camera that's not possible, and it's like looking at the backside of a horse - nothing interesting there.

Issue is that everytime i jump, i can't find my ship (visual). My view gets zoomed out all the way. If i'm lucky i can find a teeny tiny blip on screen that's me, and with 'Look at my ship' my view returns to normal... only to go *poof* after another jump.

Have it on both my accounts, new patcher client, on El Capitan 10.11.3

Other then that no problems.
great expansion :)

I just submitted a huge LogLite text dump through the Submit Ticket thing. It's a 93MB text file, sorry. If it didn't come through let me know and I can dropbox it, it's got dozens of Exceptions being thrown by various things (mostly the Overview). Should be useful

Crashed again today. Got a different dialog box after launching the EVE client as it logged in:
Quote:
Acquiring bulk data xx/189.

Assuming this may be related to the "Resource Cache Enabled" option (which I've since disabled). Something that may or may not be related to these crashes... I was running a ship with a SKIN the last two crashes, and in both instances after logging back in and warping back to the crash spot the original/default SKIN was displayed (despite a different SKIN being selected in the ship fitting window).

I've also noticed that while very enjoyable, the new Tactical camera causes a lot of lag and drops in frame rate - particular on undocks. This happened just prior to the crash yesterday on Jita 4-4 undock (really crappy place to crash this week).

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Sorry, no log attached to that report. It's usually best to put such a large file in a Dropbox or Google Drive and add the link to the report.

FML. I don't think I need to point out how ridiculous this is... You can't add the log file in-game, so you have to first file a bug report, re-open it in a browser window, login - and then you can add it the log file. Except you can't because there's a 15MB attachment limit. So we'll manually edit it down (assuming we guessed the correct parts) and then upload it. Except it doesn't show up, so I'm now relegated to setting up either Dropbox or Google Drive to get the file to you. Which I don't have anymore because I figured with the browser accepting it I didn't need to keep it and the three subsequent crashes were all under different circumstances.

I'm seriously debating whether burning the log to a CD and sending it via carrier pigeon at this point would be faster... The irony is that I don't think anything specific from Citadel is causing this, but with the mass of additional features, changes and new bugs that have been introduced with Citadel I think it's exacerbating the underlying problem.

I'm going to continue playing around with the graphical and audio settings because I think some of these may be at fault.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.
