So, What to do when the CCP GM's seem to misunderstand their own game?

Disclaimer - I have no idea where to post this.

TL;DR - I purchased a character a while back and discovered that the seller had misrepresented the standings on it to the extent that it has minus 10 in Minmatar and Gallente. It's too late to get a refund (I've had the toon too long) and it is essentially, due to a lack of a functioning mechanic in Eve, irrepairable.

In more depth...

The GM's don't seem to understand standings mechanics and keep suggesting moving my character to "another system" where I can "resume my daily activities" (GM exact words) running billions of level 1 missions to repair my standings. I have literally spent a week in fleet lately trying to do this, and the standings aren't moving.

In addition to training a lot of the social skills to 5, I've tried sisters of eve missions, minny level 1 missions, gallente level 1 missions that aren't based in minmatar or gallente space, and all the other missions i can do while docked, in all this time I've achieved approximately:

0.01% faction standing change in minmatar, from -6.00 to -5.99.

The GM's claim that they will not, under any circumstances intervene in the standings of a character, they haven't stated why with any detail but I presume it's to not set a precident for editing characters.

So how do I fight a GM? Obviously I can't name them but so far this GM has:

  • Mistaken me for somebody else on another ticket (lol)

  • Given me advice that basically shows their lack of knowledge about the game

  • Repeatedly offered suggestions that don't work

  • Passed me onto another GM who proceeded to do exactly the same thing...

  • Suggested I sell my character...

I need to be able to use my character and because of this rediculous system, I can't.

Any help?

Did you try the SOE epic arc? Not normal missions. At the end you should get a significant faction standing boost iirc.

Also check if you've done the data centers yet: http://www.thonky.com/eve-online-guide/dog-tags (not sure if you can use them with -2 or lower faction though)

I'm not sure, but i think incursions may also help.

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

There's also the Standings repair plan

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

The standings plan doesn't work in this case as I can't get the missions in question.

I'll look into incursions but I doubt that they would help or it would be documented somewhere.

The SOE epic arc takes me to all 4 empire regions which just gets me blown up, and as this is empire standing I need, I can't have a fleet help me, it has to be done by the pilot.

You can piggyback Level 4 Storyline missions. They give a nice amount of standing increase to anyone running them along with the main runner (or at least they did so as of 6 months ago). Just fleet with a friendly runner (or an alt) when they're about to run a Storyline mission.

I have made SOE epic arc in fleet while having those negative standings. You can do it in capsule and rookie ships even. Can be some hassle, but can be done.

Would genuinely love to know how you did that, we can't get the missions to progress as long as we're in fleet.

My advice to you if you want help is to not badmouth the GMs - they're following their own internal rules and you can't fault them for that. My suggestion would be to head on over to the Missions and Complexes forum and ask for suggestions on how to repair your standings. List, in detail, the skills you have trained to 5 (maybe you missed an important one?) and list, in detail, the steps you have taken so far (i.e.: which missions have you run, for whom, how many, etc). Good luck repairing your standings.
