This has been happening the past few days. I've been playing Eve for hours then the game decides to stop running. It says socket was closed but nothing was wrong before it crashed. I've removed eve off my pc and did a fresh reinstall but it still happens.
Is this a bug ccp will be fixing in tomorrows big update?

It's a generic message that can be many things, it's not a bug. The things you can try are reset your router, reset your modem and restart your computer. It is a large possibility it can be due to network changes your ISP is making or can also possibly be somewhere farther down the line between you and the eve servers.

My modem/router is a $300 box. I know my isp is doing upgrades to the lines for 500-100mb new network speed but they work on it late at night. But this is during daytime hours.

I've rebooted my modem, restarted my pc. it will just randomly drop, usually when I don't need it too. This is the ONLY game that does it. Nothing else does.

Socket closed means packet loss.
Check your trace to ccpgames.com first and see where your packets are lost.
