Just read somewhere where RIFT is going to introduce weddings. Since I play RIFT with my wife, we will probably end up getting married again in-game.

Exactly what benefits come from it I dont know. So why hasnt EVE looke into marriage for capsuleers? Is that something the community would like?

"Till death do us part..."

Capsuleer marriages are notoriously short lived.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

I like the comment there:

"Soon after the ceremony, the couple went home and had sex in-game."

Lol, you know what's sad? I didn't even get laid on my wedding night, we went back up to the room and immediately passed out.

See, because in Eve everything is dark and gritty. I would think maybe in-game divorces in Eve would be rather popular though. Wait, that'd require men who'd actually touched a woman before...nevermind.

That's because in EVE all the female avatars are going to be men, CCP probably don't want to cause incidents :p

At one point in my life, I was a rather active WoW player. Two people in my raiding guild decided to get "married". My character was a warlock, which is a class that's generally predisposed to causing trouble. My warlock friends and I thought an in game wedding was about the most pathetic thing we'd ever heard of, so we summoned several large, hostile demons on top of the wedding procession, scattering their nicely planned rows of people in a flurry of fireballs and explosions.

I'm generally a friendly, helpful Eve player, despite Eve's reputation for being an uncaring universe. If I find out about any marriage ceremonies in Eve, I will cause as much trouble as possible. There will be others who will gladly help me.

Why? I'm not sure. Maybe I hate roleplaying. Maybe I hate weddings. Maybe both.

you know your wife IRL, right? Please say you do.

Also, I wouldn't care much one way or the other.

I would marry my wife again gladly in an mmo. Problem is all she does is play puzzle games in Steam. Not into MMOs :(

depends on what you define as die. if it's the end of the body then yes we die, but are reborn with our old knowledge and experience. if you count it as when we as our consciousness no longer exists, then yes, we never die, but I see he eventual divorce rate of capsuleers being extremely high.

As a former guest at a bona fide EVE 'wedding', I can tell you that they do occur, after a fashion. Aye, there was someone to do the ceremony and a nice bit of unique eye candy as a backdrop and everything. Someone thought of the whole affair as "not so much as losing a son, as a bloody waste of time.", but he was a bitter roleplaying man.

PS No, not everything. No rings exchanged as far as I remember. What can you do? Perhaps Long limbed Roes or Rigs. No rings, precious, in EVE. Forgot how they got around that bit.
