In-space GUI buttons disappearing

For a few days, now, I've had an issue where the in-space GUI buttons have simply disappeared, but have sometimes appeared again. I have tried to identify the cause of this, but have been unable to. There seems to be no discernible, single cause.

I have tried to reset the cache (Clear All Cache Files) multiple times, and this seemed to work once, but has not worked since. I have reset all settings too (Clear All Settings) and this did bring the buttons back. I haven't checked if it worked a second time, because I'm not super psyched about setting my UI up again-again.

Also of note: It is NOT connected to "Show Buttons"/"Hide Buttons" button. Whether the buttons are set to be shown or hidden, they aren't being shown.

As I was using the old launcher, I decided uninstall EVE and start using the new launcher. I set up my UI once again, and when I logged in this evening, the buttons are once again gone. Since I didn't play for any length of time without the UI (And custom overview) I can't tell if it's related to that or not. I'll try resetting once again, but not adding the overview. But still, I'm interested in any kind of help anyone can offer.

You wouldn't happen to be refering to the grey buttons on the left-hand edge of your HUD, right? The ones that are directly beneath where you're HP readout numbers/percents appear if you have them visible? One's for opening cargo bay, two control zoom in/out (they are hidden by default normally), one's for selecting the camera modes if you have the new camera enabled or turning the tactical overlay on if you're using the old one.

If so, I've had that a couple times since the new camera was added to TQ some time back. Seem to happen to me when I leave the tracking camera enabled before logging off and then it (the tracking camera mode) sometimes bugs out on me when logging back in. When that happens, those buttons don't show up after undocking.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

I was using the old camera. After every clearance of settings and cache, I'd switch back to the old camera. I have now started using the new camera, and have not had the issue since. Specifically, the issue with the buttons disappearing while using the old camera appeared when I used a custom overview. Using the new camera, they are there just fine, even while using a custom overview. I have no idea why this happened, but there it is. The "fix."

Have the same issue with the old camera and the buttons to the left of the U/I disappearing. Put new camera on and it goes away. Is this something you are going to fix CCP, or are we stuck with the new camera?

same problem here. since patch from 12th april.
often when i change the ship. after undock the buttons are gone.
the "<<" or ">>" show/hide button hasno more function then.

dock/undock does not help.
jump to another system doesnt help.
change the ship back doesnt help.
only thing that helps is quit and restart the game. sucks!

but shortcut keys for scanners, cargo, ... still works.

i use, prefer the old map and camera too.

ccp please fix this with the next big useless update on 27th april.
