Keepstar In Low-Sec Pockets within High-Sec

I was flying a Distribution Mission in High-Sec, when I came across a cluster of systems I have come across a few times before - isolated Low-Sec systems within High-Sec, with no Null-Sec systems in sight.

Given that, IIRC, Keepstars are allowed to fit their Doomsdays in Low-Sec space, this would effectively make any Keepstar stationed in lone Low-Sec systems within High-Sec space a living nightmare, wouldn't it? After all, last time I checked, you can't exactly hop-scotch Dreads, Carriers and Titans through the Low-Sec systems in High-Sec...

Can you?

I could be wrong on this - I thought Keepstars can only be constructed if you own sov.

If that's correct, then lowsec isn't an issue at all.

If not correct, then this still isn't really an issue for moving Capitals. They can't be built close enough to attack ships jumping gates and if you are going to cyno into system, then don't cyno to a hostile Citadel unless you have a specific reason. Additionally, citadels don't attack on their own like POSs do. The weapons have to be manned. If the system is empty, no problem where you cyno or warp.

Keepstars do not require sov and can be placed even in Hi Sec.

Doomsday on Keepstar does not work in Low Sec, last time I checked, even though you can fit it.

you know caps use jump drives? as long as that 'lowsec island' is in range it doesnt matter if theres hisec around...

I don't see why this is an issue at all?

First you can also build them in hs second the point about the DD is irrelevant as it can only be used against capitals finally last I looked there were no ls areas in eve a jump drive could not get to

Yeah, I don't think there are any lowsec islands out of reach of caps and supers.

I haven't actually checked, but I'm 99% sure.

Which is what I was wondering about in regards to Citadel defense. If you placed a Keepstar in a "Low-sec Island" (assuming the Doomsdays can be used in Low-Sec), not only will the enemy have to travel between islands to get to you, the further you are into High-Sec, but it technically would also mean that you know exactly from where they will come from, depending on how many islands are in proximity to where you placed your Citadel.

XL can be built in high sec, and can use the doomsday in high sec too.

It's really not that much of an issue...

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

First check the dotlan jump planner to see how capitals could access that particular system with jumps. I would check myself if I knew the system name but since you're keeping that system name to yourself you'd have to do this yourself.

If you have not jumped around in capitals much, you may have a perception that somewhere 'deep' in high-sec may be difficult to reach from low/null. But more often than not, eve map is so twisted & curved that many systems that feel very far apart in terms of number of gate jumps are actually very close to each other when you draw a direct line between them, making capital jumps actually much shorter distance than you may first assume.

I can't comment on your particular system, but I know a few low-sec 'island' or 'dead-end' surrounded by hi-sec that are actually very well located for capital jumps in and out.

So check on dotlan first & see what are the real jump options for that system.

Still trying to wrap my head around why anyone would purposely jump into weapons range in the first place.
