Congratulations to Tash-Murkon!

Now I am really thrilled to see what course the Amarr's policy will take.

The Ascension of the first Udorian to the Position of Empress of Amarr will have Profound Theological Implications for the Empire, and for the other Amarrian religions, for Many Years to come.

Congratulations to Lady Tash-Murkon, and Congratulations to the Champion and Retainers of Tash-Murkon, on their Victory.

Also, Has there been any news Yet, on what Name the Empress-elect will Choose ?

Will she be Empress Catiz 1 ?

Synthia 1, Empress of Kaztropol.

It is Written.

An Empress we can do business with. I shall consider investments in the Empire in a new light - and be doubly wary in contract negotiations - perhaps the supreme Caldari compliment.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

Congratulations to Empress-to-be Catiz Tash-Murkon.

If you had told me a year ago, that I'd live to see a progressive Udorian on the Throne, I'd have thought you mad.

But God has spoken and even the most conservative "True Amarr" must now swear faith. I think a part of me would find mirth in this.

However, the Tash-Murkon's were raised up to fill the void left by Khanid. I see in the words of the official proclamation that even now, Khanid, once the proud Kingdom that stood firm against the Empire, is again seen as just a "House" among the others. While this is probably a good move for the Empire, this signals the death of my heritage. I look forward to a Udorian Amarr, but I don't rejoice at the death of the Kingdom.

Congratulations to Lord Darklight and his Retainers on the final victory in this Trial of Fire and Blood. Now is the time for all of Amarr to rejoice in the coming of a new Empress in Lady Catiz Tash-Murkon. Let us also say a prayer for the Heirs of the other Great Houses that now prepare for the Rite of Shathol'Syn.

God has spoken. We obey.

Amarr Victor.

Khanid II spent the better part of 300 years doing what no other being in this galaxy could do. He told the Empire to shove it, took a titan and a third of the Navy, carved out his own Kingdom and held the Empire at bay since. He foiled one assassination attempt after another, including one lead by his own brother. The Matari couldn't do that. The Federation couldn't. The Jove wouldn't. He did. He forged the ties that exist between the Empire and the State. He lead the development of new technology, ships like the Anathema. All the while, traitors to his rule plotted "reunification." They pushed, pulled and schemed a way for Khanid to be brought back into the Empire. Eventually, the Kingdom rejoined, but as an ally.

Under Jamyl, relations "improved." Khanid was named to the Privy Council, but again, under his terms.

Then Jamyl died. Stupidly. Needlessly. Imperial hubris killed her as much as the Drifters did. And perhaps it was that same hubris that drew Khanid back to the Throne. He made a case for inclusion and the Empire changed tradition to allow him to compete again.

So Khanid, one of the greatest military minds in the last millenia, now languishes, awaiting the ritual suicide he avoided three centuries ago. His heir states he is ready to carry on a leader of House Khanid...but I see little to indicate that the Kingdom will ever be what it once was. The Kingdom will become an historical footnote. A tourist attraction. And all the people we've killed, all the Khanid who have died for this 300 year-long rebellion would have died in vain. To add insult, the Empress who will reabsorb the "Kingdom" is of the same House that replaced the Kingdom. House Sarum. House Kor-Azor, the others, they lost an Heir. If Khanid the man dies, Khanid the Kingdom dies with him.

Of course...

If Khanid the man does not die...

What then?

I don't know a thing about who's taking over the kingdom, but with three hundred years of defiance and prosperity do you really think they would throw that away? Like us your people fought to free yourselves from their rule (yes obviously it's totally different circumstances I know), throwing that away? For obvious reasons I want the Empire to crumble in ways such as that. Though I'd prefer they turned their guns on them just the act of defiance is amazing to see. I know I shouldn't feel this way since Khanid shoot at mine and myself but I hope they hold up on their own. If anything it'd show the power of their religion to drive enemies together so I don't see why they would want it either. I hope your wrong, but who knows....

Formal allegiance? As opposed to allegiance? Then we do hope that your initial scepticism and lack of conviction, doesn’t cloud your loyalty. We have heard more convincing congratulation addresses in primary school...

On a more important matter: We urge all subjects of the Great Khanid Kingdom and all those loyal to the house of Khanid to join us in our plea to His Majesty to continue his reign. The Shathol'Syn is not a proper doctrine and should not considered to be orthodoxy.

Proper it is or not, Lady d'Hanguest, He gave a word and must follow it. Or what King would he be?

This. Regardless how the Subjects of His Highness feel, he chose once more to submit himself to the Championship, including the fate of the losing Houses.

There is little left for me than to reiterate what others like Admiral Blake and Captain Onzo already expressed so skillfully. My loyalty lies of course with our designated Empress Catiz Tash-Murkon.

So much for loyalty and respect to your King to make his own decisions and bear their consequences. Not even mentioning loyalty to the Empress...

To clarify, Catiz won the the throne. I will be as loyal to her as I was to her predecessors.

Regarding the future of Khanid, I hope he does the right thing. Not only for the unity of the Amarrian people, but for the sake of his own reputation.

The Matari did it as slaves, not as a betrayer and coveter. The Jove never had to, the Federation never had to. The State did so years ago from the Federation.

Not in the Kingdom as much as the Empire.

While Khanid sat awaiting his death and the Empire held it's tournament, Sansha Kuvakei's forces were engaged in an incursion in Sarum Prime one jump away.

As my cousin Odelya pointed out, the concept of Shathol'Syn needs to be dropped. The Empire has too many enemies, within and without, to afford slaughtering the best of it's leadership. Duke Farokh is a capable leader, but will he be a King or just an Heir? And Sacred Flesh? If it wasn't for this little slice of conservatism, Jamyl Sarum would be alive today. Science teaches us that the species best able to adapt to it's surroundings is the one most likely to survive. We are not in the same galaxy that we were in a thousand years ago. If the Empire can't evolve, the Empire will surely perish.

The one hope in this, is that Empress Apparent Catiz just might be progressive enough to make these changes.

What you are advocating for is going against scripture to preserve your betrayer king.

Appealing to the death of the Empress is akin to a cowards plea for his own life. At least your king has the spine to not make it himself.
