Rorqual - why no love

Just wondering why the Rorqual has yet to receive any love?
(The orca as well, and freighters)

Or is the citadel patch only for combat related capitals?

One of two things are going to happen.

1. Details during fanfest, Rorqual changes happen patch after citadels.
2. Forget about it until next year...again....and again....

What does this basically mean:

Buy.
Rorquals.
Now.


Why?

Cause right now (well, not right now, but last time I checked, about a week ago) there are Rorquals on contract for 2b ISK.
They Insure for about 500m, and pay on loss for about 2.3b. This means if you buy one for 2b, mine with it, make 200m ISK in ore before you get blown up, you're isk-neutral.

Add some modules, you're at 500m until it's paid off.
Mackinaws currently make 50-60m an hour, and i don't expect the Rorqual to be much short of that, maybe even far above it.

So your Rorqual will have to mine a few hours until it's technically paid off, just remember to blow it up before the insurance expires and board a new one.

found one for 1.8bil now so u can make more isk if u buy it . but to be honest with these new mining drons rorquals will turn to capital barge which will not increase demand who will want to mine in rorqual solo in 0.0 belt this change wont make evryone go buy rorqual to lose it to random gangs

Like noone will ever use carriers solo in an anomaly. I, too, believe we will never, ever see Rorquals in belt after your adequate and well-thought explanation.

This thought bubble of mining fighters and super resists was first brought up at EDU 2014. It was laughed at then, It was brought up again as 'a good idea' at EDU 2015. I spoke to CCP MIMIC at the time stating that no Rorq pilot would willingly take it outside a POS shield and with Fozzies continued campaign against off grid boosts they are now useless until med citadels are spammed across static belts to provide teathering for the Rorq allowing them to once again provide full boosts. I see it as another attempt to destroy the deeper levels of the the game. I know I will be pointedly asking for the use or lack of use metrics at EDU this year.
As usual adapt or wait til CCP fix it/revert it.

i don't think i like the idea of the invulnerability.

right now the only way to tactically use a blops is using it to disrupt enemy industry(sure you can drop them on anyone for the lawls but that is not the most effective use)

this ability while giving the rorq some use completely makes null mining fleets immune to blops gangs

With blops you need to get in and out before the support fleet shows upthat's the whole point. this abulity forces you to be useless until the support fleet shows.

Even if done one is in a solo Rorqual nothing can be done as it can still go invulnerable until its support shows up


If I had the numbers to blob with capitals I wouldn't need to resort to using blops

Any news on rorquals?

CCP said that they are willing to change them in summer. Few days left until summer and we still don't know details except excavation drones.
