Option to prevent log in screen graphics from loading.

Pretty much the title. I don't know what they have done but I really don't care about seeing the little space ships flying around. The login screen is twice the load that the game is when running and it slows my computer down quite dramatically for about 15-20 seconds.

Would be nice to just have the login message and the password / user name so that I can log in or relog in more quickly. Smile

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

I'd like this too!

Perhaps make a switch between a static login screen bitmap, that loads pretty quick and the animated stuff that take more time to load.

Even better IMO would be to have the updater and login screen on a regular prelaunch window, and load the game directly to the char selection. You cannot go back to the login screen without restarting the whole game so there's really no point on having the login screen inside the game.

Actually, now that I have a new laptop and the new screens take a split second to load no matter what on maximum possible graphics, I still support this. lol, my old laptop took 5 minutes to load EVE on lowest graphics. Mostly just the login screen. I would like a button to make it static, just like the hanger when you dock.

It used to be that the login screen was just a little box for your user and password. I dont know why they went to this elaborate login movie BS.
Its about as smart as believing Joseph Smith.
