Starting PvP - Ship lineup

Hi everyone,
I am looking to set-up a chain of ships to skill for, and learn to fly. This is primarily for solo PvP, but may look at small gangs in the future. I prefer Amarr, but am willing to use another faction if they have a better line of ships (i.e. I don't want to jump from faction to faction as I move up in ships)

Background:
I have played Eve for a while, but never really did any PvP (other then getting myself blown-up by gankers). I am looking into trying it out, but don't know the best place to start. I have ready online, and watched videos; however, I am not sure what is out of date, and what is still relevant. I know in mission running sometimes a fit a month old is irrelevant (due to patches), and sometimes a 3yr old fit is still good.

I am looking to try solo pvp to start. Most of my experience is high-sec, but I have spent a fair amount of time doing relic sites in null.
My current SP/trained skills are irrelevant as I am willing to train while flying other alts.

Lineup Idea:
My current idea for a lineup of ships is outlined below. Any thoughts/input would be appreciated

Starting:
Tormentor or Executioner. Both of these are throwaway ships for me, and I can loose them again and again. I am not sure which to go with. I like the extra high on the Executioner, but the extra low, and drone bay on the Tormentor is nice too. Fit thoughts:
Tormentor - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7m_Q46417U
Would it be best to carry 2 warriors and 2 hornet ec-300, or 4 warriors? I am thinking this may be better to learn if I am aiming for a nomen
Executioner - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvOB4KXYk-o

Step-up Frigate
Navy Slicer - http://www.eveproguides.com/forums/topic/pvp-kiting-slicer-fit/
I am thinking of using this once I get a feel for more manual flying, etc. and as a step-up from the throwaway frigates.

Final Target
Navy oment - https://zkillboard.com/kill/41683284/
Once I spend a lot of time in cheep frigates, and some more time in a frigate ~1/2 the cost of this, I am thinking of aiming for the Navy Omen to fly

Thank you for any help/feedback.

The executioner will be a good start and segway into the slicer really well. Check out frigate videos, especially slicer videos(its a popular solo ship), some break down the manual piloting really well. chessur makes some pretty dank videos.

I'd consider rolling in the slicer right away if you have decent skills for it.

They're cheaper than the other faction frigs currently and if you plex less people are gonna mess with you because it's dangerous to warp in to a Slicer (unless he's sleeping you're never gonna land in scram range of him). Also, you don't even have to get close to the NPC at the plex.

Having an MWD you can also easily speed off 100km away to take any fights there if people are inclined, that way reinforcements are gonna take longer to arrive.

I would suggest the Tormentor to start. Run the fit you got from Iddo's video for the mwd version and use this one for when you want to practice scram kiting.

Extruded Compact Heat Sink
IFFA Compact Damage Control
Small Ancillary Armor Repairer,Nanite Repair Paste

Fleeting Compact Stasis Webifier

Small Focused Beam Laser II,Imperial Navy Multifrequency S
Small Focused Beam Laser II,Imperial Navy Multifrequency S
Small Focused Beam Laser II,Imperial Navy Multifrequency S

Thank you all for your input. I really appreciate it. I am just wrapping-up some training items, and will start flying soon. I am glad that it looks like I am on the right track with my training to fly these boats. Will probably go with Executioner first as my drone skills are week at the moment, and try it out once I have them trained-up a bit more.

Switch Savage - thank you for the additional fit for the tormentor.
