I have been trying to find where you buy the tickets to the Fanfest Golden circle and Blue lagoon hangover party tickets, but all I can find when following the links is for the normal tours.
Are these sold out already or am I just looking in the wrong place/ not inputting the right data?

Sorry but file “forumsig.GIF” is currently unavailable please come back later…… like in a year or so.

That is the link I have been using but If you follow it its just a discount page for trips with them, cant seem to find the official trips listed. again unless I am blind.

Yeah I see what you mean, but if you follow the links the site does say "welcome eve fanfest visitors"

So I presume it's the official tour place, the only thing I booked was the Silfra dive for Sunday morning which I did independently. Same as my flights and hotel etc.

Similar question to the OP here. I know last year, we had something like 4-6 buses that formed up at Harpa on Wednesday at 0900, taking FF attendees around to all the different sites. This year, on the Eventbrite website, I didn't see any special tours like this offered - are there any plans in the works to do this? Or are we out of luck this year, and need to book a conventional tour through Reyk Excursions?

I'm bringing friends this year, and while I can live with seeing everything as a conventional tourist, being apart of the EVE fleet roaming around Iceland does have a certain charm to it.

Thouse are the official trips. CCP is not doing 'Golden Circle with the Devs'or the Blue lagoon hangover party. So you have to book it on your own

Edit: hmm seems they might have a hang over party... as its mentioned on the website faq, but i read someplace they are not going to do that this year

Edit 2 found it:

"EVE Fanfest 2016 has teamed up with Reykjavík Excursions for the two official tours of Fanfest - the Golden Circle Tour and the Blue Lagoon Hangover Trip. Reykjavík Excursions will be in charge of selling tickets and organizing these two trips and are able to offer Fanfest attendees the best available price.

Reykjavík Excursions is also offering Fanfest attendess discounts to all their tours around Fanfest, including the Flybus that travels between Keflavík Airport and Reykjavík."

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

Yeaaaah, so I'm going to reach out to RE regarding the Golden Circle, see what day it's being held and how to book tickets. It's clear as mud atm, hopefully I'll hear something back that will help everyone else out.

Such a shame the northern lights tours finish early April. I'm hoping that we can find reps offering the tour during the Fanfest dates but no joy when searching online, latest I can find is April 15th.

Does anyone have any more knowledge on this? Ever seen the tours offered late April?

Thanks in advance!

Totally Forgot I made this post (sorry)

The issue with finding the tours was someone forgot to press a button (I see the link has been posted on here) and thinks to a load of us emailing seems to have got it fixed.

I think you will find it difficult finding any operator at this time of year due to the northern light not being very active during this time. When I was out last year which was earlier it was still a bit stop and go over if you would see anything as it was late in the season.
I know that's probably not the answer you wanted but I hope it helps.

I spoke to several tours today and did some research. Apparently the best times to watch the northern lights are in February (I was told) because apparently there are more clear nights then. I was told that the northern lights however occur most in March and April but this is when the weather is most unpredictable. True thing, I left Reykjavik this morning on a 100km drive and encountered blue skies, hail, heavy rain and snow, now it is blue sky outside, I look towards the sea and see the next thick rain filled stratus clouds approaching. You can alternatively also rent a car, and google areas (rent a GPS here), and go somewhere close by where the road is still paved and save, and try to have luck yourself. As soon as you are distant from light pollution you will see it better. Two nights in a row I set my alarm 3x just to find bad weather however. Most tours do not do it around this period because of exactly this, however, there is still a chance you can see them. Do not go off-road in the dark however with regular rent a car and no 4x4 knowledge, this is outback country and the rocks/gravel here is black in many parts with the surrounding also black, which makes it really difficult and dangerous to navigate.

tl;dr: if you cannot book a tour do not worry, chances are slim to watch it around this time period and if you however still really want to watch it, self-initiative is most likely required (renting car, gps, driving to a less light polluted area while staying on paved road and staying safe).
