you are camping in a sabre, you bubble and decloak a covert when it jumped a gate but before you can lock it, it cloaks again and escapes.
wtf is this kind of bug or cheat?

Same guy did it twice on same day to me.

Did it uncloak from the jump, then recloak, you uncloaked it, then recloak, or did it go from gate cloak to recloak?

It sounds to me like he just uncloaked from the normal gate cloak and recloaked, which has no time delay.

I know that gate cloak has no delay.
If I write, "I bubble and decloak" then I ofc mean that I mwd toward the ship and decloak it by entering 2km proximity of it.
Yet its not possible to stop right there and stay within 2000m of it in order to stop it cloaking, you have to reapproach the ship again whilst locking it. However I'm a little surprised how it can re-activate cloak again in this short period of time when you are locking it. Sabre locking time is like 3s on a covert??

5 second reactivation timer after being decloaked...

If anyhting you did takes longer than that he can cloak...

Sounds like he cruised out of decloak range and you caught the jump cloak.. MWD - cloak trick n all Blink

No Worries

Fair enough. The way you said it sounded more like what I described.

But yeah, I haven't seen nor heard of anything similar. Maybe submit a ticket?

No cheats are going on here.

It sounds like he crashed the gate while cloaked. he either decloaked because of your or the gate, but if he was in a frig with an MWD, he more than likely made it to the gate before you could lock. With some ships, they can recloak about a few seconds, so on the other side he probably waited using his gate cloak for the regular cloak timer to count down and warped off.

I once was being chased by a sabre in a Helios after a profitable exploration run and crashed the gate about 10+ times on either side of avoid him. This was when I was new and did not know about the reload time on a bubble launcher lol. I eventually got away when he got bored and stopped following.

no, if I say he cloaked, then I also mean he cloaked. not gatecrashed, not jumped out, not anything else but cloaked and slowboated away.

My guess is you didn't uncloak him but he dropped his gate cloak and cloaked right away. Either that or you have a slow lock time and he was able to cloak up after waiting out his reactivation timer. If I had to bet I'd go with the former.

Also, I removed a troll post.

Maybe he gate crashed you. Were you watching while all this was going on?

Several things that do not add up here.
But before I go on how about you stow your contemptuous attitude as displayed by your responses so far. If you were more specific in your information and more concise in how you relate it others would not have to ask for clarifications.

Moving on you cannot break a gate cloak no matter how close you are to the ship, at least it did not happen the last time I had someone land on top of me when I was gate cloaked, but that was a few months ago so it may have changed.

This brings me to the second thing that does not add up. If you did indeed break his cloak that meant that he had already broken gate cloak, saw that you were there and then activated his on board cloak, but if he did that why was he in the same place and not moving away from it?

If they were cloaked how do you know for sure that YOU de-cloaked them?
How do you know it was not a simple coincidence that you were in about the right place when they chose to break cloak?

After reading this all several times there is only one thing that makes sense of the information you have given us.
You did not break his cloak, you were simply in about the right position when he chose to break gate cloak.
You admit to overshooting him in your haste to get close and this combined with the fact the he was already in the process of moving gave him sufficient time and distance to re-cloak via his on board cloak. And that once cloaked he was able to counter any and all moves you made to de-cloak him again and simply escaped your trap.
