Low Sec Solo Gate Sniper

Truly solo, no links, no notin else...

Considering Blaster Talos, Rail Naga or Arty Tornado.

Suggestions?

Leaning toward the Talos, cause drone bay.

Arty nado, you only get 1 shot off before you have to warp or the target warps.

Talos/naga have to litle alpha and in a real fight they suck anyways.


Use a typical instanado at 70km, be permaligned and if a target shows shoot and instantly warp out.

Are you just trying to farm kills? Or do you have a specific target in mind?

The locking time on these ships is terrible, and anything that you could blap will be gone before you can volley them. Aside from haulers I'm sure you wouldnt get much action, or end up tackled and lolmailed otherwise.

You may be interested in something that can blap small stuff and target fast, while still taking some measure of gate gun aggro, but I'll let you make the final decision on what that actually is.

All that said, anything you can't blap will tackle you and wreck your sniper fit. They don't tank anything, in fact it is the exact opposite of tank....like negative tank.

I think if you specified what you were looking for target wise a better assessment could be made.

Truly solo though? I mean really what is the end game? If you don't have an alt to scoop or an alt at all, you get maybe 5 targets before someone get upset enough to break that up, or they catch you slipping trying to scoop the loot.

This seems like a kill farming thing, if that is the case a stabbed, smart bombing bs is way better for tear collection. I guess I've tried this, but I used my arty nado to troll a gatecamp and never used it to actually commit to something like this.

There are way better choices of ship to camp gates solo.(that is why you rarely ever see a "sniper" ship camping a gate, when you do it's an Oracle)

Sniper Rokh was fun ten years ago. Might still be fun.

One salvo was enough for most haulers.

I'm guessing you mean solo gate camper, not sniper since it'd be hard to call a blaster talo's a sniper lol

From my (albeit limited) experience, you usually want an arty ship for the high alpha. Either that or a smart bombing bs to nab frigs and capsules.

Instalock Loki, Smartbombing Megathron, Smartbombing Proteus (proteus is pretty insane but requires a bit of work to be successful)

Watch what you do with nados etc because if you miss that atron it will troll you to death ;)

For other just normal solo gatecamping i use an orthrus as the point range is great and can tank the gateguns fine
