o/

Recently I saw an article describing an event that has happened at fanfest.

Quote:
at CCP’s annual FanFest conference, Gianturco showed up drunk and at a panel discussion encouraged gamers to harass a player he knew to be depressed to commit suicide.

This was done using CCP platform , this could be consider an attempt of indirect murder trying to make someone commit suicide. CCP never banned this man , and there is an history regarding player that have been banned for less than that.

I'm among those who lost people due to Suicide.

So i'm asking you CCP , do you have double standard for player in eve depending on who they are ?

In some country trying to make someone commit suicide is a criminal offense are you aware of this ?

CCP why do you protect someone that used your platform as a way to make someone kill himself at an event you have organized ?

Do you realy want this kind of publicity ?

There is video footage of this event and once I get my hand on this , trust me I will do anything to make this man pay for what he did , this is pure nonsense that CCP protect this man.

OP. you know that happened at fanfest 2012, right? It was the source of much discussion and intense controversy at the time. Why bring it back up now?

Old news is no news; quit trolling.kid.

To buck the popular trend, I began to Rage Start instead of Rage Quit.

...and every time I get another piece of Carbon, I know exactly what CCP is getting this Christmas.

Ah. Of course it's impossible that there's even the smallest bit of meta in it. Just because the guy who did badly is right now leading a group embroiled in a huge war...

Then bother reading all the consequences that happened because of his drunken ramblings to that particular person, which will have been in all the articles you read also.... So the only reason for bringing it up is to manufacture outrage again.
So yea, lock incoming.

So your lack of knowledge equates to the possibility that CCP agree with the promotion of suicide?

Man there are some dumb people in Eve lately.

Here, go read this sticky thread at the top of GD:

That should give you a very definitive answer to your question, as if even such a stupid question needs a direct answer anyway.

Not to mention that they already punished The Mittani back then. They banned him from EVE for a month, and drop-kicked him from his position as chairman of the player council.

While a month is not a big deal on the whole, losing his position on the CSM would definitely black mark him.

Bringing it up now is like digging up dirt on a politician, and finding something that you think is a "big find" but is common knowledge to everyone else.

This is a game where players can get away with investment scams and one-year long assassination contracts/super-heists, while CCP can still get your dollars when you buy PLEX to use in-game even if that same Plex winds up vaporized in the cold of space when your ship that carries it gets blown up.

NOTE: Cracked.com has a number of articles where EVE shows up on their lists regarding video games.

It takes moving things outside of the game in order to get yourself into trouble, something which looks like Mittani may get himself into again if he decides to act up at fanfest (assuming he does go back there, considering how many people that want his head in-game might go for it out of game).

Such a thing happened when three guys travelled all the way to Iceland after the EVE Monument was put up just to vandalize it by scratching out Xenuria's name, and had the audacity (and idiocy) to tweet about it. CCP immediately responded by banning all three people and all their accounts from EVE Online permanently.

Alex is going to have to do something at that level in order for him to be thrown out of EVE permanently (which he may be getting dangerously close to doing, given what I've heard as of late).

So a monument is more important than the life of a human being if I follow the logic. Try to make someone kill himself and you get one month ban but if you touch our monument hell yeah we gonna ban you for good ?

And for those who think this is some meta game due to the war it's not. But you are free to think what ever you want. I lost friend due to suicide and this is a subject that I care about.

The only link to the war I could think off , is because recently article are spreading like disease and I found out about this.

And for the smart ass , I'm fully aware this is old news , but yet he got away without much punishment. 1 month and the lost of a CSM chair ? Seriously ?

Single incident of Drunken idiocy which he was highly apologetic for afterwards, and which he hasn't repeated.
Vs
Sober deliberate action of a group which was part of an organised campaign of harassment against Xenuria. (Note, I don't like them either, but they still deserve basic decency)

Spot the difference in the two incidents.

Also, spot your own threats in the Op, where you are actually doing even worse than he did, issuing RL threats against someone who has already been punished.

Courage to be an idiot on a main is better than posting on an alt.

OK. Got it.

Better just not to be an idiot at all

In reality, we are all alts. Just characters. Is this the way you would address employees of CCP face-to-face, or how you would talk to The Mittani face-to-face? I doubt it.
