Aurum....what to do with it.

So what do I do with trivial amounts of aurum? I have 650 and very few thing can be acquired for 650.

Is it possible to turn it into tokens? Or am I stuck with 650 aurum?

Well, I believe once you have the Aurum, that's it. Can't turn it back into ISK, PLEX or Tokens and it can't be transferred to another character. So that basically leaves you with 2 options.

Buy whatever you can with the amount you have and sell the items in the market for ISK.

Or ...........

Just let it sit there and hopefully in the future CCP will give out some more.

You are stuck. I would keep it, and maybe down the line you might find yourself with an extra plex or two to convert to AUR. Cause youre only gonna be able to buy those ****** apparel stuff that no one cares to buy, with only 650 aurum.

I'm with Ralph on this one.

You can focus on all the shouda, coulda, wouldas or you can choose to focus on having fun. As soon as CCP introduced the ability to remove aurum from displaying in your wallet I did. I could not even tell you how much aurum my characters have since it hasn't displayed on my wallet in years.

TL;dr
To expand on Ralph's advice go into your wallet setting and make it so aurum does not display. Problem solved.

When Aurum was first introduced I ignored it, for years and years. At various times CCP would add more Aurum to it. Eventually I decided to spend it since I couldn't cash it in. That was last year.

Before I actually did that, I remembered a promise I made to myself which was I would never spend real life money to purchase Aurum nor would I cash in PLEX for Aurum. I still have 2x PLEX available in the Redeem queue for account emergency to keep it subbed.

Anyway, I looked in the markets first to see what was available for ISK. After buying a few items, I then checked out the Aurum store and bought some more items. Needless to say I didn't even spend half of the Aurum that had accumulated over the years. Add in all the free clothing items given as gifts over the years and I now have quite a selection available.

Guess what I'm saying is just let the Aurum sit there for a while. Over the years CCP has developed a habit of giving away both Aurum and clothing items trying to incite players into purchasing more Aurum.

If you don't want it, you should be able to petition/file a support ticket to have it removed from your account completely.

(Much like one can end up with a negative wallet balance if you do things that are very bad and unmentionable / eula violations. )

If accounts have been active since the ill fated Incarna release, and no Aurum was ever spent, totals should sit at 5500 aurum.

Umm, you might wanna check your account, probably have some Aurum sitting there ready and waiting to be spent.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

So free Aurum must have been a once-only event. Aurum was introduced in Incarna and I started 4 December 2011 (Crucible) and have never received any freebies.

I want to say it happened in increments: From Patch day, through to various other days and seasonal events. Not a one time value given to all. FWIW, NPC's around the same time used to have Aurum tokens available for sale on the market with those amusing 364 day Sell orders that only npc's are capable of.

Save it for Christmas and use it to buy someone a present.
Clothing and such works well if your Corp do secret Santa and you have no idea what to get.
