A awful hack job imho in many parts.

Edit: btw guys... did you know that 11 MILLION Isk was lost in the battle of B-R? I thought it was a bit higher than that. It also happened in 2012, not 2014. Non fact checked article is fail!

Edit 2: Quote from the article

"But it is almost impossible to take what Gianturco says at face value. An arch manipulator, he is keen to promote his side’s view of the current conflict, and in leaked chat logs shown to IBT after an interview with him, Gianturco boasts that the media (and IBT in particular) are “eager to print whatever I’ll tell them.”.

Yeap...

Qoute from the article "This peaked in 2014 with the battle known as Bloodbath of B-R5RB, said to have been the biggest player-versus-player battle in gaming history with over 7,500 people taking part and with ships worth 11 trillion ISK (the in-game currency) destroyed, which has been equated to over $300,000 in real world value."

Did they changed the article or what?

Edit: They did, according to the comments. Very interresting.

"Frauenversteher wissen, was Frauen wollen. Aber Frauen wollen keine Frauenversteher. Weil Frauenversteher wissen, was Frauen wollen." (Ein Single)

Is that true? Did that really happen? Can anybody confirm this?

It just calls EVE boring, which let's face it, it is. Few of us would actually be here if it wasn't for the fact we've been here too long to quit now. The forum is generally more interesting than the game.

I find EVE at its most boring to be more fun than many games. If you're bored, try not doing mining missions way out in Outer Ring.

I'm going to build a big wall that will keep the Gallente out, and they're going to pay for it!

I'm fairly certain that the twitch and shoot crowd would find EVE very boring.

You cannot compare EVE to any other MMO, it doesn't work like them, it doesn't play like them.

The article was very wrong on many counts. You can do missions, etc, in EVE. While it may not have started with them, it is possible now. The game has evolved significantly.

The 'EVE is dying' meme is alive and well in that article and it's really wrong. It didn't need the current 'war' to keep going. It was just time for one and someone has the ISK to risk and toss into it.

Some changes have likely stopped the major alliances from actually going to war. That could be strongly debated, but in the end CCP has to keep changing the game or that will most certainly kill it.

It was interesting to learn 'The Mittani's' real name and background. His out of game maneuvers and personality now make perfect sense to me.

Listen to the sound of nobody caring. It's deafening.

This guy sounds like he tried playing and was horrible at it, so he decided to talk crap about a game he knows nothing about.

The irony here is that the poorly written article in itself is extremely boring in addition to being filled with false claims. It's besically a copy paste from one of the many negative reviews on Steam except with far to many words.

I've heard the name but never paid any attention to the sidewalk mutterings, but seems like a posting pretty well all about this guy would've demanded a post from this guy. I really like this game and probably spend more time and money in it than I should but hey, it's my time and my money. Exciting? Well, it's kind of like RL, sometimes it is and sometimes it ain't. Probably an age thing but I don't pursue drama/adventure as much as I did back in the day and it shows in my game play. I operate in null-sec on a semi-regular basis but it's well scouted before I move the high priced stuff in and I'll fold, run and hide if Local begins to look a little iffy. But that's my game, the PvP enthusiasts have their game and they are welcome to it. I've only had one 1v1 (my guy won), everything else has been 1v5 or more so I try and stay away from the gang-bangers.

Forum Rep for a bunch of characters, couple corps and one seriously Lost In Space multiboxer.

The apology certainly did. I'm fairly sure the isk thing is true but I don't have a link on hand to confirm that - it was only the contents of his personal wallet, which didn't really contain an amount worth lying about.

As for what Mittens was really thinking at the time… I don't have any jabber logs, sorry.

The author should have thought twice when he wrote that EVE is boring but has fanatic players. That doesn't fit together.

One thing he has right: Eve is hard on noobs. When CCP wants new players they don't need new content but a better UI. They are good at making an ultra complex game but really bad at UI making. Yesterday I was searching for an error in a new PI and it took me quite a while to find out that I forgot to route something. There was no error message but the plant was happily working, it just dumped the results..... . Or you can't distinguish a basic from an advanced factory or......... It's not just the PI but the whole UI ist really bad, just take the fitting window. That everyone is using 3rd party tools should tell CCP that there is something very wrong and new players don't know Tripwire, EVEmon, EFT, Uni-Wiki etc.

1 designer with a lot of game UI experience would get CCP more players then 10 proggers making content (both would be the jackpot Cool )

Lets not forgot about some other features that are clunky as hell or just really unrefined. Setting up Moon Mining comes to mind.

I think some things that CCP could really improve on would have to be some quality of life things. It would make handling sharp edged boxes a bit easier for players.

It did not read to me like a direct quote.

"Frauenversteher wissen, was Frauen wollen. Aber Frauen wollen keine Frauenversteher. Weil Frauenversteher wissen, was Frauen wollen." (Ein Single)

Despite what most of you think and the missleading title, the article has good lines too. Like...
