So I came back after almost 4 years and I have almost 8mill in drone skills, and I have no idea what I should train into. If carrier what faction? My gunnery is basic as **** should I train those up instead?

Stay away from carriers until the makers of the game want to figure out the reason they made them in the 3rd place. Pump gall up to that mark. Although, your question is extremely vague without more intel on your situation aside from 8m in drones.

Here ya go.

[Citadels] Carriers

Basically they are being made into larger, racially flavored Dominixs.

But that is off-topic from the what the OP is asking.

If you want go with drones OP, I suggest looking at the Gallente ship line.

The Gallente have an entire ship line (both Tech 1 and Tech 2) that use drones as a "primary" weapon system.

Tech 1 line: Tristan (Frigate) > Algos (Destroyer) > Vexor (Cruiser) > Myrmidon (Battlecruiser) > Dominix (Battleship) > Thanatos (Carrier)
Navy Faction Ships (Tech 1.5): Navy Comet (Frigate) > Vexor Navy Issue (Cruiser) > Navy Dominix (Battleship)
Tech 2 line: Ishkur (Assault Frigate) > Magus (Command Destroyer) > Ishtar (Heavy Assault Cruiser) > Eos (Command Ship) > Sin (Black Ops Battleship)

Special faction ship lines to consider when you have experience and money:
(NOTE: these ship lines require skills in two racial ship lines at the same time)

Sisters of EVE Faction: Astero (Frigate) > Stratios (Cruiser) > Nestor (Battleship)
Guristas Faction: Worm (Frigate) > Gila (Cruiser) > Rattlesnake (Battleship)

If you have more questions about drones, ask them here. We can answer them. Smile

You should do what we're all doing: look at the Ship Chart in-game, and/or at the EVE University ships wiki, figure out what ships you want to fly, and then train the weapons for those ships. If you like a ship that uses lasers, train lasers. If you like a ship that uses drones, train drones.

It's a game. Play around with stuff. Figure out what you like doing and train what you use.

For example: training into a carrier would be the dumbest thing that you could do if want you want to do is get into exploration or industry or something unrelated to carrier warfare.

I don't think that you should be looking to train deep into stuff that you aren't using. I also don't think that you should be deciding what to do in game based on your skill points.

Again I say figure out what you enjoy and train into that.
