Is there something I'm missing? What is the deal with all the Asian islander names? Did I miss the memo?

It seems every bear in Eve has a name that reads like an employee at Sony.

The irony of someone who named his character like a reddit account complaining about there being people who use asian sounding names is not completely lost on me.

And yes, you did miss the memo. Four out of the twelve bloodline races in EVE are inspired by asian cultures and looks. Done deliberately to market the game in China.

Whether you like it or not, a large part of humanity is Asian. In fact, if humanity continues for awhile, all humans are going to look somewhat Asian.

Also, what is an "Asian Islander"? I know of Pacific Islanders, and Asians, but didn't know there were "Asian Islanders"...

mildred Bernstein

etc.

In EVE or in general?
In EVE, I'd go with the same explanation: surname is generated automatically and capitalized while people don't care to remove it, name itself is written by a player who doesn't give a damn.
