Upon the great fabric, I did see a rift!
Asteroids and planets and stars all adrift
I ventured within, with hopes not to die,
I followed my brother on whom I rely.
We looked for a signal, a beacon, a sign.

Deeper and deeper, we probed our way through.
Far far away from the ones we once knew.
A curse and a hound lost in space until when
A rattlesnake warped in to scan range of them.
He was up to some mischief, or scandal, or crime,

We narrowed our angles, our scanners alive,
From ninety, to sixty, to fifteen, to five.
First planet, first moon, our ships both aligned,
We both had the feeling our chances were primed.
Our torps at the ready, our warpdrives online.
