Alright I will try the Gist just because it can handle more neuts. But let me know if the Pith is worth it too since on Pyfa with the pith it repairs more than the Gist.

Let me know!

With that fit, max skills and 2 +5% cap hardwiring, the gist fit can tank 3 Sentry III (capital) energy neuts (these neuts 40 GJs oer second, so to stay stable you need to generate 120 GJ above your ships cap needs)). The pith fit can only tank 2 (80 GJ). Most missions only have the 2 capital neuts but a few can spawn 1 or 2 Sentry II.

The pith fit would be in serious trouble in the missions that spawn extra neuts , the Gist verion is much more survivable. On the tank side, mid (or better yet, high) grade crystals (all but the omegas) are a must to get your tank up above 2100 to 2200 dps tanked.

In other words, you can't cheap out when it comes to this if you want to succeed. The whole point is a super tough ship that won't die and that will pay for itself easily.

Got so you need the 2 +5% cap hardwiring implants and all but the Omega Crystal set for the Tengu to efficiently work?

Also second question, for the Crystal set does it have to be high-grade or can you downsize it to mid-grade just for isk? From what I see it's only a difference of 100 tank with the Gist shield booster. Would you suggest that it would be okay with the mid-grade crystals then? Or need to go high-grade?

You can use Mid grade, high grade is better. The main principle here is that you don't want to take any chances because of isk. In high sec lvl 4 missioning it's ok to say "well, I will use this because it's cheaper than that" and therefor more cost effective. in lvl 5 missioning (which is always in low sec), EVERY little bit counts. And blitzed lvl 5s are so lucrative, you make the isk investment back very soon.

The mid grades will do, the high grades help you better if you (for example) get caught in a mission by other players. You want as much cap and tank as you can not just for the mission, but for dealing with other players (with enough cap and tank you can survive long enough for npc aggro to switch, letting the npcs help kill your enemy or at least help you get away).

Also as soon as possible make sure your thermo dynamics skill and your racial tech3 cruiser skill get to 5, being able to overheat is not necessary for the mission, but it will save your ship if you get caught in a mission.

Alright noted. So I will go with dual rattlers and carrier missions until I'm able to fund the high-grade crystal set and then try out the Tengu and see how that goes. Looks pretty nice after I bought everything for the Tengu! Can't wait to give it a shot.

guys, what is the best agent race to run lvl5 missions for ?

Tried using Regengu (with HAM's) for Amarr agent....did first few missions Location 1 (takes around 25 minutes to complete), Wrath of Angels (very easy), Oust the claimjumpers (takes a long time)...Sansha aquisition (very easy), big sting part 1 (doable), big sting part 2 (very stupid mission, where u need to haul 6000m3 and shoot NPC).

Thanks a lot to Jenn aSide for a suggestions about fitting.

It's really up to you what race to fly. Rattlesnakes are good but you need to warp out every now and then or you might die... Minmattar ships are good too because weapon type doesn't use cap at all so you might be able to find a good fit that will tank out the neuts if you'reand active tank.

So really Caldari or Minmattar are your choices unless you dual box and can dual RR domi. Otherwise it's carriers and any carrier can do them, I've seen Archon, Thanatos, Chimeras and heard of Nids do it as well.

It's up to you if you and what ship you want. I also heard the nighthawk is good too.

Sorry m8, I probably asked this question incorrectly.

I meant what agent race is the best for Lvl5 mission running ?

I've heard of people doing Gallente and Caldari mostly. Not many from what I hear do Minmattar or Amarr

Do NOT take a Regengu into "Honor" or "Fortress" http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=MissionReportsLevel5. Fortress especially, that sucker spawns seven energy neut Sentry IIIs, no sub cap can take that, even a regengu.

I mostly used Caldari and Gallente agents, because most missions will be against serps and guristas (as well as against the opposing race, the caldari agent gives lots or missions against gallente for example) and those are easiest to tank. It also lets me rebound my standings, lvl 5 missions can be hell on opposing faction standings.

I try to avoid Amarr, Blood Raider and Sansha missions. They are doable if you fit an EM hardener, they just take too long usually. I am toying with the idea of a "RegenLoki" for Amarr/BR/Sansha missions.

Glad you like it, wish i could take credit for it but I'm simply applying other folks fits and knowledge to lvl 5 missions, and I'm far from the 1st (I like a guy who did it in a officer fit maelstrom on the 1st page).

Avoid any lvl 5 mission with more than 3 Energy Neut Sentry IIIs, or 2 Energy Nuet Sentry IIIs and 2 energy neut Sentry IIs. Basically, any lvl 5 mission that neuts more than 100 GJ per second total.

I avoid Blood Raider missions altogether because some of their ships nuet to.

Could it be possible that if you have one character that is in the Tengu and have another character as an off-grid links, would that be possible to do to amplify the shields even more to withstand more and possibly add more DPS? Or is having links in level 5's not worth it? Just trying to think of different things since currently I am running two rattlesnakes, and make use of another character while I have a Tengu going or should I just use Tengu/Rattlesnake variation to add DPS from the rattle and heavy tank from the Tengu?

I've also found this week that the RegenGu can handle ALL c1-c3 wormhole combat anomalies. That's not a big deal as you can do those in other ships (I have a C3 solo Vagabond for example.

What is a big deal (to me as a wormhole solo noob) is that I was able to solo this wormhole site last night. And this one. Those are c4 wormhole sites. The neuts didn't even tickle and I never dipped below 85% shields.

I want to thank you so much for the Tengu fit, it's absolutely astonishing of what it can tank. Currently I'm running a rattlesnake as DPS and Tengu as the main tank, it's a lot of micro management with missiles, shields and drones but it doable and for a couple times I get a little nervous that the tengu won't make it or be able to succeed in a mission but the shield regen from the gist x is INSANE!

Thank you so much!

Greatly appreciate it!

Like I said, wish I could take credit for it, but I haven't had an original idea since 1979 (lol). Really glad you like it, Like Atomic said, 2 of them are absolute murder on lvl 5 missions.
