ok so i'm using a mac but idk if its a mac related issue or if its an issue on your side but one thing i know is that i cant play eve without this happening which is that my game will freeze and it wont unfreeze. i can hear everything thats going on and i can move my mouse but i cant click on anything nor can i exit out of game using command tab. and then have to completely shut my computer off and turn it back on. i've lost a hecate and an ares after this happening because for some reason it doesn't consider or count it as me dcing and i know this because i was killed by rats on a gate in null sec and with the hecate i warped somewhere within 100 and once i warped the game froze and i couldn't do anything about it. its honestly frustrating. i recorded what happened and if you need me to i can show you what happened in a video. i'm just figuring out how to bring a new video from photos on a mac to final cut pro x.

i am using the new beta launcher and its kinda slow and ill explain the setting through the video and everything. and that brings me to something else. i have been having a problem opening up the old eve launcher and what happens is that it freezes once opened and i cant click or exit out of the old launcher i can only force quite it and then that doesn't fix the problem.

i really want to play some eve but i don't want to risk loosing any more ships

I've been having game freezing issues, since the new release just came out and have been able to play for about a week now. I've logged bug reports and support tickets but the bug killers must be busy. I'm going to try this Wine wrapper and see if that suddenly works miracles and fixes stuff. I can log in and get everything loaded up and then it just freezes and locks up.

I wonder if it's the same issue?

I've got exactly the same issue.

Didn't have any problems pre-March update, but had to hard reset my Mac twice in the past few days.

maybe i actually might have found a fix. if im guessing correctly the game freezes because of a command im giving the game like "warp to" and im guessing it over loads the ram and freezes the computer. ive also noticed that a lot of other people are having the same issue where the game becomes to much for there computer from this recent update due to an over load of ram. so what i did was go to settings then graphics settings and I switched the settings to memory setting in the graphics settings. then at the top right it says "resource cache enable" click that and the game should work smoothly. its worked for me so far and the game only froze when i switched graphics settings back to high graphics so that may be the problem. i would try it out. but ik that wine works out really well as well but i dont know how to use.

Start the EVE Launcher then click on "EVE Launcher" on the top left near the Apple button. Select preferences, select Wine.

This is beyond annoying. Crashed 5 times tonight in an hour and a half. Lost a ship. Really pissed off.

Details? I am trying the resource cache enabled thing. Also did a repair.

Can't tell if my issues are related to the same issue but having returned from a 8 month sabbatical I'm suffering game and to some degree machine freezes.

Broadly speaking at some indeterminate point the client freezes, it seems to cause some kind of resource issue on my mac which slowly causes other apps to also become un responsive which ultimately includes my app icon bar. This is happening on average once a night i.e. once for every 2-3 hours.

I don't have the problem when not running the eve client, it happens with a single instance of eve (I multi client but dont need to in order to see this issue).

I am suspicious of my machines graphic's card but I'm not likely to fork out $500+ until I know the root cause. Reason I say that is because my hardware had a graphics recall (which wasn't implemented in Aus...) during the summer the GFX (AMD HD 6970M) it did run rather hot... oddly though it's not hot season at present.

Im broad terms I have: iMac 2011, 27", i7 with 32GB memory and 2 SSD drives (both 256GB) OSX 10.11.3.

Any thoughts? I'm about to tweak my fans to cool more on the GFX temp and reinstall eve from scratch as first attempts.

Take a look at https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=6380823#post6380823 - I'd be curious to know if running under Wine helps.

Same issue here. The last time I was online was during the Guristas event in March and everything worked fine. Returned this week and the Mac client is once again unstable (it locked up within an hour on two subsequent game sessions). It's even worse under WINE (froze within 5 minutes), so use at your own risk... I'll try enabling the Resource Cache (as suggested) to see if that makes a difference. Fingers crossed...

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

yup running it under wine definately works. It also fixed a lot of other problems like the browser not working properly like when it might just freeze on you.

to be honest I think it's a couple problem cuz ik a lot of people have said that Eve took a lot more cpu up than before. Or I think its cpu. It may be ram that I'm thinking about. So yea putting on the recourse cache should help and you should turn it down to the lowest graphics settings to do so.

Yup I've been having the freezing issue with my 2011 Macbook Pro since the March release also. Most of the freezes happen while going through the warping process - and especially jumping through stargates or wormholes. I've figured out that switching to using the old style fullscreen map when I jump gates keeps the freezes from happening.

I'll try some of the things posted and see if that helps. CCP Snorlax - hope this is being looked at. I'm beginning to sweat trying to move anything nice around!

My client is crashing, typically when loading grid after undock. But the third time tonight was after warping to station to dock. I'm getting pretty tired of seeing this message:

https://i.gyazo.com/ab5185e032a18acdc3039353cde55750.png

I did the "optimize for memory" graphic settings and clicked "resource cache enabled," but it doesn't seem to matter what graphic settings are at.

I've got LogLite files. Where can I send them?

try a support ticket and put those loglite files in the support ticket and just say exactly what you said here.
