Team burner Hawk rocket range.

Twice I have lost my Breacher to the Hawk while maintaining range of about 22 km. The log shows him hitting me with Caldari Navy scourge rockets, and I'm wondering if this is a bug or perhaps somehow I came within rocket range from the time he fired.
I was only moving at about 150 ish km/s when he hit me.

I've completed the team burners with the Breacher before with no problem, but I did come in a little closer these past 2 times.

Has CCP changed something recently?

Or maybe there's a way to get rockets to travel that far and I'm just unaware of it?

Why not just use the Team Burner Garmur instead? No bling required, and guaranteed success every time (except if you get more than two poorly spaced-out wrecking shots from the Jaguar, that is)

That's a good idea, and I think I'll take that advice. Thanks for the reply. I guess I was flying the breacher to get the miser skill to L5.

And as far as my speed being the cause, well, maybe. But I was still 22 km away. Rockets don't normally have that kind of range do they?

Yep, I see what you're saying now. Rockets can hit out to that range and I was going too slow to get out of range.

Don't use rockets that much and didn't know much about fitting them, but I'm a little wiser now. Thanks.

from what I remember it is roughly 17km. I usually use a beam retribution for that mission and 19km is my multifreq optimal so when I pay attention I don't get hit, however sometimes I get lazy and do get hit. Also when you are flying away from it that reduces missile range slightly.

with a propmod you avoid hits cause the have too much flighttime then.

but as bumble mentioned use a garmur. fits for all teamburners and is easy to use. i preffer the polarized rocket version over the lml version.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I'm going with the garmur. Tried the mission with it, but only have caldari frigate to 3. Need just a little more dps to break the tanks. 12 more hours to L4. Worked well orbiting at 20 km.

Personally, I wouldn't mess around with the LML or ECM versions - just replace the TP with another MGC and have 2xBCU and co-pro in the lows. Can fit three CN BCUs.

Yeah, that's the fit I went with. It can be done with Caldari frigate at L4. The hawk landed one hit on me while orbiting at 22km, but even with no resists wasn't enough to get me past 60% armor.

And yeah doing it with ecm is a pain. Have done the team burners with an ecm Tristan. Usually lost a couple drones. I also was able to do them with the Breacher, but even with decent ecm skills you may have to wait for numerous cycles before it lands.

The Garmur is much faster with no drones to manage.

Small Warhead Flare Catalyst I is the most commonly utilized.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Add a T1 flare catalyst.

waahhh fit 3 inertias for travel, but seriously i use a version with only one cnbcu and 2 t2 for fitting purposes.
