In the past two years, I have done two tours of 3 months each. I am looking forward to coming back. I think it's going to be a tough go at first. I will have to pretty much relearn everything. I am going to force myself to use only basic ships till I can get comfortable out there. I wish I could commit more time to EVE but I have RL commitments that don't allow me that luxury lol. Wish me luck fellow pilots.

Welcome back, good luck and don't be too worried about what you fly, just try to learn up on what you need and enjoy it. People take this game too seriously and get stressed and quit.

Good luck out there pilot.

Good luck and thank you for your service (I assume military?)

If your into PVE stuff... and your flying matari ships (assumption) may I suggest a republic firetail. Fantastic little ship to relearn stuff in and has loads of capability. May be a bit pricey though... worth it in my mind.

Thanks :)

I just now logged off the game and it seemed to take forever to get the client to update. What a surprise to find myself as an avatar walking around in station. Not sure that I see any reason to have avatars walking around in the station. I never had a problem using the menus before.
I lost my old avatar. I was quite fond of that one. I should have a screen that I can post up.

I really like the part about 'people take this game too seriously'. I have found that with any game I have played. The demands placed on players by a corportion or a guild are just ridiculous. After all, this is a game just like any other that I have played and it is one of my forms of entertainment. Screw getting stressed about it. Thank you for your response Lady Spank.

Thanks for suggesting the Firetail. It is a ship I will have to give a try. Won't take to long to skill up for it I guess. At this time, I am getting comfortable again in using my Rifters. Have a few frigates I am experimenting with... and yes... it looks sad right now LOL. I have found a corp again and it seems a very comfortable fit for me. No pressure, helpful pilots and as I skill up, I will be able to take part in more of their forays. I also have two Hulks that I use to harvest resources so that I can use my refining skills and later, I will skill up for manufacture.

Currently, I am skilling for a Hound. Need another 7 days for Elec Upgrades and then Covert Ops to fly this one. So as you can see, my skills are a bit scattered but in due time, that will sort itself out.

Pardon my newbish exuberance, but I am totally loving being back in EVE and can't wait to see where this game wll take me. So many possibilities and so many different paths to take. Cheers!

Glad to hear you are enjoying your time here. If you are training up for bombers you could also put some skills into probing and give that side of the game a go. It might suit your mining / industrial side to get involved in running Gravimetric mining sites, They are safer and more interesting to mine than high-sec asteroid belts :)

There are some serious business type corps out there but there are also some relaxed ones. Try to find a relaxed one that is somewhat competent without throwing around demands on their players.

As for the station avatars:

A lot of people have wanted them for years now, the current implementation isn't really what we wanted but it's at least proof the engine is working.

Right now there really isn't any new functionality that the environment gives us but it has been talked about that you could do smuggling and shady deals in stations that you wouldn't be able to do before (for instance contraband cant be sold on even contracts) and a lot of people would like it for the social aspects as well.

It's all part of the scheme to make EVE the ultimate sci-fi experience :P

Cool pointers! I have been looking at my skills and reading forums, sites pertaining to skills. I already know that I will be here for a long time training up for whatever path I choose and there are many here in New Eden. I will def look into Gravimetric sites. Sounds interesting.

Found a good corp that I am very happy with. Easy going but involved in the game. No demands and helpful. Corp would like to see me progress and have made suggestions - no pressure at all Cool

In that case, deal me in! Love the part about smuggling and contraband. It won't make me get a PS3 as long as you share in the activities planet-side from orbit. I will wait and see what EVE has in store for us. Judging by that Future Vision trailer, it's going to be good if it actually all works. Might even bring a whole new meaning to 2Boxing. PS3 and a PC running together.

Awesome Crimson... thank you so much for that. I checked my drives but could find no screens with my old avatar. Lol

Welcome back and have fun out there!

I am a veteran but a rolled a new character not long back and was quiet fun going back to basics and ended up picking up a lot of stuff along the way which I forgot about. Plus the new tutorials are great :)

... Tutorials... wut? lol
As with other games I have played, sometimes it helps to go back to the basics and start all over on another character. The one big thing with EVE is all the reading and experimenting with all the various things you can do here. Hardest is choosing what to do. Like I said before, this game takes it's time and I am in no hurry.
btw... I did find the tutorials. Yet again, something else to toy around with.

Welcome "back" to another DEV ALT who is feigning "return" to try to convince forum readers that Eve really isn't in decline.

I'm not buying it. (or an Eve sub for that matter.)

Just because you have soured or burned out on EVE, don't label me as a 'Welcome back DEV ALT'. You know shyte about me and I will have none of that. I was like you with other games. If you don't f'ing like the game, then GTFO! I just spent over 4 years playing Rappelz and was quite good at the hack-n-slash type of game it is. You use pets that can equip pimped gears to boost theirs and your stats. Problem with that game is that the 'in-game currency' sellers have taken over and players accounts are being lost in ever increasing numbers to hackers. I decided to bow out, not because I was bored or overly displeased with the direction the game was being taken, I just didn't want to become another statistic in the Rappelz forums. Feel free to look up my posts, forum name is Rutgerskree. If that seems like too much work, let me help you. Look here: EDIT: Removed link - decided you don't need this...
I had tried EVE before as you can see in my posts. I have decided to finally commit myself to EVE and not let flakes like you p!ss on my parade.
Suck it and FOAD you stupid malcontent! Let's hope you never sub again! O wayt!!! Maybe you are too broke to re-sub.... that's even better!
