Your post is nothing but a butthurt rant because you lost a ship due to someone else bringing ECM. You've posted no qualifications to support your position, nor have you stated any suggestion beyond removing the thing you're mad about.

Now, if you have a legitimate complaint, then there can be a discussion about it. However, if that complaint is that you lost a non-tanked catalyst to a group of 5 frigates, regardless of type, then that is simply EvE working as intended. You flew a ship with 3k EHP, no tank, no prop mod, and no friends against a superior force. What did you reasonably expect to happen?

No, you dummy, I did not lose to them "regardless of type" (love that blanket assumption), I lost to them literally because of ECM. That Catalyst fit doesn't need tank, it's capable of destroying most frigates within a few seconds (and with double webs getting under it's tracking is practically impossible), but because ECM is one of the most broken and dumb game mechanics I couldn't even lock anyone and just sat there dying.

Even so, again, this isn't the reason for this thread. I made this thread on a completely unrelated and unbiased note based on the fact that ECM is terrible.

So you might have been able to get one of those frigates, but the end result would have still been the same. It doesn't take but a few seconds for 5 frigates to dish out 3k damage. If you don't want to be effected by ECM, fly a ship with stronger sensor strength or fit the right modules to do same.

ECCM is a thing, and this idea doesn't even belong in the one line bad ideas thread. CCP have made eccm SO easy too with those scripts for sebos.

Your post needs reasons for getting rid of ecm and an idea to replace it, because it is a form of tanking for a race that depends on slow ships with a huge sig radius and time delayed DPS(missiles/torps). It also is the only form of ewar that depends entirely on RNG, and is the most easy to counter. Not only that, the module that counters it ALSO counters the gallente non-RNG pissoff that are damps.

Use the force without consent and the court wont acquit you even if you are a card carryin', robe wearin' Jedi.

if you got jammed then ecm is working as intended, if you want to decrease the chance at getting jammed learn some sensor compensation skills.

I respectfully disagree with you ARES-DESIDERATUS, I have survived many encounters over the years simply because ECM so quite the contrary to your opinion ECM is good to have and it is in a relative way in a very good place.

What I see from your posts here is that you went up against a numerically superior force relying on the "I have enough dps and ehp to win the day" mindset and because ECM they handed you your arse. Seems like you lost a fight because you were out played and now you want the thing that caused that loss to be removed from the game.

Who needs a blob. A couple of ECM ships just to be sure and some web / scram / disrupt to hold him in place and then a slow death to a single T1 frigate with T1 fittings flown by a 3 week old pilot seems far more appropriate.
