1 - Granted.
2 - Not from what I've seen, whenever I open a thread the top posts are usually a variation of "ayy lmao" "lol autism" or somesuch. Dumb ideas disappearing also means that anything that goes against the common feels of the userbase would be downvoted into oblivion. Even if it is right.
3 - People running to mods because you disagree with them is a problem everywhere, on reddit they just downvote you instead.
4 - Personally not interested in that as I am not a war participant, but I can see the allure in that. Granted.
5 - That would require me making an account.
6 - Granted.
7 - Granted.
8 - Purely subjective.

For me, I wouldn't say that its positives outweigh the negatives.

So just looking at it being open for potential players, having higher traffic, and more dev interaction... exactly what negatives over power that?

2 is enough really. Signal to noise ratio is the most important thing for me, and when it's that low, it's just a non-starter.
Take this thread for example. Just read the two top comments chains.

You have something against selling PLEX or running incursions?

I mean, its the internet. There are dumb comments everywhere. After all these years my eyes just kind of slide past them for the most part.

Person posts thread asking how people made their first billion ingame. Top answer: "I bought it". Second comment chain equates running incursions, ie playing the game to having autism.

I'm not trying to convince him of anything, I'm just laying out how things are on my end. It's why I asked him about the positives, I want to hear what the other side thinks.

tbf buying a PLEX is how a lot of people got their first billion (would point out that title question does not actually specify through ingame means).

Second comment does not actually equate playing the game with autism. Its making a comment in regards to incursion comms.

And the next chains are about exploration, ingame contests, wormholes, effective ratting styles, mission running, industry, hauling, market trading, etc

OP later posts "Thank you guys so much for all the feedback!"

So... thread success

I don't know, I pretty much stopped reading after those two. They're both both by people who don't actually want to play the game. They just want to log in and PvP. That's not something I can understand, as EVE is a much broader game than that. The economics and empire building is what drew me in, and I PvP on the side whenever I feel like it. I've done almost everything there is ingame. It's a very rich environment and PvP is just a facet of it. And the reality of the game is that to PvP, you need ISK. Yet people seem put off by that and try to skip it.

I can find things here that I cant find on r/eve, and i can find things on r/eve that are not on official forums.
I spend like 95% of my ready/posty time here, even if I have seen enough of you. Just to throw some likes. Read your posts.
Only sometimes I go to r/eve just to see the links to images on imgur, only sometimes I read comments if its something interesting enough. I dont even have reddit account and I dont feel like I want to have.

I think there is no way you can completely redirect someone to something he doesn want to try even. Let them decide what they like, I am sure they have seen the game and read enough about it already.

It is, but it is only one of its parts. I personally enjoy the rich environment that the game offers as a whole, and frankly if I was only interested in PvP, I'd be playing something else.

Nowhere did I say that it is cheating. It's a shortcut.

Also, antagonising the people that give you ISK in exchange for your PLEX is hardly advisable.

The market for plex will never dry up, it's that simple, it's a fixed thing now,
