Hmm.. joy is not good because hedonism, an extreme obsession with pleasure (not the same thing as joy), can be bad.

Excellent logic. Best solution: never enjoy anything ever. Great success!

This goes against the teachings of I, Claudia Amelia Testarossa Wingate Lillithella Osyn MDCXXXIV, Goddess of the IGS, most beloved by some. One should enjoy life to it's fullest! Otherwise you're merely existing, and that makes you no more than a thing without a soul.

Hmm, your sin seems to be egotism.

Don't mind her. She's not actually serious. She's pulling your leg.

I am asking, because, honestly, I don't know if there's anything left that could make me happy.

If that's the case, then might I humbly suggest that instead of trying to make others suffer with you, regardless of whether or not they deserve it in anyone's eye's, you take some time to find something that can?

Seconded.

Respectfully, Ms. Kim, so much unhappiness is really hard to watch.

Something that would make me happy involves getting powers to resurrect people. But even Maker doesn't do this.
So I'd better stick to what I actually can do, and to what I must to do.

Indeed. Enjoying things is a waste of time.

Miss Kim,

I was going to suggest to look for happiness in places you have not looked before, but now it seems to me that you don't want to be happy.

Happiness invalidates her existence. Of course she refuses to be happy.

If that is the case, then it's a very sad existance. I'm not sure what I'd do if I sunk back into a low, losing everything that has brought me joy. It likely wouldn't involve much of a continued existance.

Ms Kim, to put it in better terms... Doing something you enjoy, or gives you some small amount of satisfaction is vital for maintaining day to day morale. While for certain one's patriotism is good for the long term morale, one must also guard against the mundane. I'd recommend serving tea to like minded individuals, as you yourself once did for me. It was an enjoyable visit, and I hope you see it likewise. From small satisfactions comes the motivation and mental energy to accomplish great things.

You do realise that she's going to misinterpret 'serving tea' as 'serving Kresh tea', right?

Some people take enjoyment in their Duty to the State, like Ms Kim.

There is no higher duty than that to the State, but I find enjoyment in other things too. After a long day of flying and shooting at other pilots i like visit Drang's bar and Grill in IWZ, leave my pod and have a nice beer and taco!

One must enjoy the little things in life.

I can't imagine anyone who drinks vast quantities of Soykaf (tm) brand synthetic coffee to know how to take pleasure in their food.

Except in your case, death is only a minor inconvenience and the ISK you made doesn't end up spent on your funeral. Big smile

Please excuse me for the delayed answer.

At first I thought to make a separate thread about the subject of happiness, but then I decided to put it here, as it is somewhat related. I am surprised though that my happiness bothers so many people and I wasn't actually one of them.

That made me to reflect about happiness, what I could do for it and if I can reach it at all.

Of course first of all I had to dismiss the idea of 'resurrection'. If we are talk about real subject we should stick to real solutions, without involving dreams that never can be realized and fairy tales about these... ugh... how they were called? Pink domestic cattle with only one horn left, who, excuse me for obscenity, puke rainbows. (What was it? Some sort of gallentean fairytale? These things are abnormal and disgusting. And they show it to children? They want them to disgust and puke themselves from watching such mutants? This is offensive and unacceptable. Anyway...)

Yes, there are things that still can make me happy. For example, I enjoy justice. I like to see when people get what they have deserved. Maybe I even enjoy it too much and will prefer seeing them getting way more that they deserved. I enjoy executing criminals. I don't really feel anything anymore when I kill hostile soldiers, who simply execute orders and fight against us. But I love to shoot at those, who earned to be shot with their personal actions. Considering amount of peoples I have killed... who knows, maybe I will enjoy when I will be shot as well.

There are other things that will make me happy. I love when the operation against occupants have a success. And, for me to truly become happy, we shall liberate Caldari Prime from gallente occupants completely. And not only Caldari Prime, Black Rise as well.

If I will know there are not a single gallente or federal left in Caldari Prime and Black Rise, then I will be happy. Until it happens... I have to fight.

And if any of you are truly bothered about my happiness, maybe you will grab a weapon and help us to clean our worlds from gallentean occupants?

Oh, and one more thing. I don't think that it is possible to become happy from... eating. I am simply disgusted at the thought of eating like a gallentean swine, consuming all these weird food, becoming obese and smelly like federal hedonists.

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.
