Can Autopilot use Afterburners and Microwarp drives?

No, and no it shouldn't. If you want to get somewhere faster, fly manually.

Some people will set their AB/MWD to the F1 position, then all they have to do is put something (like an erasure) to hold the F1 key down. You drop out of warp and away you go.

Good idea. Include it as an option maybe under the auto-pilot settings?
