Hello capsuleers,

as a little personal project I created this web service which allows to check the profitability of a certain blueprint.

As an industrial player myself I've got tired of updating my excel-sheets few times a week with current eve-central prices to figure out - will I make some ISK with the end product?

So here comes - http://eve-trader.net - you simply search for a blueprint (search input accepts part of the name or typeid), the system queries for component prices (trying to get them the cheapest way) and for end product prices (trying to get them the most expensive way).

Current issues/limitations

All data comes from areas within 5 jumps away from main trade hubs - Jita, Amarr, Dodixie, Rens, Hek and which are high-sec.

This comes mainly from my personal experience where you want to buy fast large amount of components, produce something and sell those items. In 99% of cases you won't leave even the main trade hubs for this, but for better comparison's sake further solar systems were included. You can however specify solar systems and create own queries (they will perform a bit longer, please keep that in mind)

There is no consideration of personal standings, tax etc. While the app was designed as quick reference guide I will extend the expert mode with those features in the future.

Plans for future releases:
(approx. in exact this order)

  • Allowing users to query for different amounts, rather than 100. (done Arrow)
  • Speed optimization
  • Deeper levels of components query (optional). So you can specify whether or not you want to buy your components or, in turn, manufacture them.
  • Implement user accounts where user can save their blueprints, thus, having a faster access to their favourite blueprints.
  • Having a history saved for each blueprint.
  • A suggestions feature, where users can suggest new things and other users can vote on them.
  • Making market predictions based on Monte-Carlo-Simulation or Expected Shortfall methods.

==== Release 1.2.0 / 05-04-2016 ====
- Expert mode extended - solar systems can now be specified in the query
- Added a loader animation

==== Release 1.1.0 / 20-03-2016 ====
- Blueprints database updated completely
- Expert mode extended - ME level is now supported

==== Release 1.0.1 / 02-03-2016 ====
- Added an optional field for desired amount of end products
- Set desired amount by default to 1
- Calculation for a batch will now depend on user's input (the desired amount)

Please let me know if you find this service useful Smile

So I figured out that most search requests are going in for larger blueprints (ships mostly). There is no need to perform a request for 100 ships. I added an (optional) field where users can provide their desired amount of end products. By default this value is set to 1. This will minimize response and provide much better user experience.

As always, any feedback is highly appreciated here or at dev@handsomecake.com

One of the bigger updates today (on the technical side) - rewamped whole blueprint database. It should be most up-to-date right now (I figured out some blueprints were outdated).

Please show your support by sharing the resource on twitter and facebook (functionality provided on the top right corner).

New release - 1.2.0
Now you can specify one or more solar systems where you want your data be gathered from. Again - by default the app is looking in the area within 5 jumps around main trade hubs.
I also added a little loader so now website gives user feedback whether it's being loaded or not.
On a side note, the select field for solar systems now contains 8k entries and performs a bit slow. I already have an idea how to fix this, but it will take a bit of time.

Hi

Looks pretty good, usefull quick reference. I think some improvements would be to add the ability to enter your trade skills and standings info, as then you could calculate the exact profit, as currently you are not taking those into account when buying the raw materials, and selling the end product.

Thank you very much for the feedback. Personal standings will be a bit trickier I think. I might implement this together with personal accounts, so the app will grab your characters data and you don't have to type it in manually for each faction.
While the app was designed as quick reference I like the idea to serve both sides - a deep detailed calculation and a quick overview.
