Hey Eve Community,

Correct me if this post is wrongly placed or not, this is my first post on the forums. I have been having a issue with direct x lately where whenever the game updates a command prompt shows up and says it is "installing direct x". But the command prompt closes, eve does not open, and when you try to re-open eve it just happens again. I had contacted support and if I remember correctly where they had gotten to the point of saying re-install windows. Which for some people either isn't a option, to time consuming, and etc. My friend had the same issue a little while ago and instead of having to copy the correct directx files into the bin folder I just made a installer to do it.

Considering this is the internet and you don't want to trust some randoms installer you can compair the md5's of the direct x dll to direct x of the same version(I couldn't find this version / a hash thats why I am not providing. I am also not going to spend hours trying to find a hash when somone is probobly going to scan it anyway.) It was made with a simple file installer program I had found.

This specific issue I think is based arround having the wrong or corrupted directx install on your machine. I have gone through allot of steps to try and fix it but have been unable. Instead I downloaded the dependancy walker, found what version of direct x eve needs, and dug through there packed direct x installer to find the right one.

Let me know if anyone else has this issue or if it is just me and my friend it would be cool to know if were alone in this issue.

As well if this is the wrong place for this or if I am missing a rule please excuse me and let me know or however you move forward in this forum(contact a mod?) to get it corrected! Thanks!
