Hello Friends of Tranquility. Please hear this plea to allow GM's to appoint a new CEO when the current one has quit the game.

I like many of you currently have an alt in another corp where the CEO has not logged in for years. But our alts are stuck there to access all the BPO that are locked down.

Please allow this very important topic to be discussed by the CSM to give CCP the power to help the thousands of players with alts that are stuck in corps that are dead due to an absentee person in the CEO role. I propose that if a CEO has not logged into the game for over 6 months that the role and shares can be given to someone else such as a Director if any remain, if not someone with the most time in the corp.

Thank you all for reading this proposal, please vote and let your voice be heard!

I vote no.

Personally, there was a span of a bit over two years where I was literally unable to play the game. You don't get to punish someone who's put through the effort to collect all the assets you're mooching off of, simply because they might not be in a position in their real life to be able to log on.

Your first point is irrelevant as personal assets would be in your personal hanger and corp assets should be managed by those playing the game. For those that are still part of the corp that is left behind, they should still be able to use the corps resources. Most corps in this state have had all active members leave.

So what period of time would be acceptable to you? 2 years, 4 years? Ive personally been waiting over 5 years.

So you feel you should be allowed to loot the belongings of another simply because they don't log on anymore? You've already stated that you have access to them for use, so the only reason I can see that you'd want this is to move them into your personal hangar and make off with them.

My circumstance is different that the one you are describing, although that example does exist I assume. The leadership (which I am apart of) of my main corp started this second corp as a division due to lack of separated hangers many years ago (8 I think). We have always owned and used the assets in question so were not looting our own assets.

The problem we have since game changes a few years ago is the station they are locked down in does not allow copying due to game changes, only production. I am the only active member left in the corp with director rights, I don't have shares to take CEO or unlock them. So we are unable to move them to a station that allows copying and are required to have a POS up for copying which we are trying to avoid the cost of if we could move them.

It's been in my case over 5 years since the CEO left the game for us to move these assets.

Then file a petition and let the GMs decide if your case is special enough for them to intervene. Devs do not need to be coding in ways for people to steal other people's belongings just because they don't log in for any length of time.

Sadly, I have filed a petition every year for the past 5 years. This year they told me to come here and get the CSM to bring it up, they are the only ones with the power to change this. CCP won't touch it without CSM support.

How would you feel if you came back to the game after 5 years to discover that all of your stuff had been stolen by GM's & given to another player?

Entirely this.

There was a time when I wasn't able,to play the game for almost 3 years. In my case, it was kinda hard to own a computer, have internet, and pay subs while homeless and living in abandoned buildings. I know I'd have been royally pissed if I'd come back after that three years to find all my stuff had been given away simply because I was incapable of logging in.

so if im running a personal corporation with my personal assets in the corp... and i allow a couple friends to join just to avoid taxes...

they can steal all my **** if i take a break from the game?

so, instead of you being careful, and not putting anything YOU dont want to lose in someone else's corp...
you want to put the burden on the CEO, so he has to worry about not using putting **** in he doesnt want to lose?

just reform the corporation under a more reliable CEO, and ask for your **** back when your old CEO comes back. Otherwise your **** is lost welcome to eve

My goodness -

The whine!
First and foremost, if you are a CEO and you know that you will be away for awhile, pull your stuff and appoint someone to at least director position.

Second, if you have been gone from the game for longer than a year, do you really have rights to anything in the corp anymore, specially things with in hangers that are accessible to Corp members.

Third - purpose this, if you are a person who has been gone for awhile or you are a member of a Corp that has inactive leadership and are afraid the CEO will lose out on "their items" Have all Corp Assests given to the current CEO and give someone else leadership.

Me personally, if I was in a Corp with an inactive CEO, I would just cut my lose and say **** 'em. No matter what happens, someone is getting bent over and ****ed up the tail pipe no matter what happens.

Fire Stone, if you want an active Corp and access to BPOs for copying and such. Divine Demise doors are open.

A Corporation is owned by a person.
If there are other shareholders within the corporation then they can vote for a new CEO.
If you dont like how the Company you work for is managed then either start your own or apply for a job elswhere..
And No.. you do not get to take the Corporations assets..

I think an alternative would be that the entire belongings would be transferred to an NPC station that has both research and production slots avaliable, without actually changing ownership. It's just the location.

The character does not represent the views/opinions of its Corporation or Alliance.
