HI every one,

I'm looking for advices/tips etc, just passed from vista 32 to 7 ultimate 64b and I'm having some issues.

Kept my older HD with old version and there's where Eve folder is so thought that just having some shortcut would be enough but..noes. Doesn't work.

Do I really have to reinstall it all (those favourite progs still in older HD) in the new HD ? -is there any trick to run bonth HD's or whatsoever without having to pass by that pain that is reinstall every single crap...

Thx for your expert advices ^^

Did you upgrade or keep the old install on the old HD? The registry entries for a Windows install are specific to that installation of Windows, so the EVE entries may not be present in the new Win7 installation. I'd suggest either reinstalling or running the Repair Utility and seeing if it reestablishes the registry entries in the Win7 install.

I can't get rid of my darn signature!  Oh, wait....

All you need to do is go into the EVE installation folder then into .\bin\DirectX and run DXSETUP. This will set up DX9 which isn't installed by Windows 7 by default.

Not really true. Windows 7's UI uses DirectX 9 or 10 (whatever the hardware supports) by default. If you're seeing Aero, it's done by DirectX.

As for EVE, you should be fine moving the EVE folder to the new hard disk and running repair.exe just to be sure everything is fine. Then just create a new shortcut on your start menu, desktop or super bar. Other games or applications will most likely have to be reinstalled, if you didn't upgrade your existing system (which isn't possible when switching from 32 bit to 64 bit).

It's full W7 Ultimate clean installation

I kept the vista32 version on the smaller/older HD and he's fully operational as security backup until I'm totally satisfied/used to this ultimate version that is in fact very different from vista, and also until I'm completely satisfied of all my programs performances going from professional to stuff like games (CCP gime Dust514 beta nao !!)

Thank you guys for your tips/comments, if you ever have advices on tools /commands to get the crap out it and/or my hardware using this version please be my guest.

Ran the repair tool for both eve/sisi launchers: same stuff, eve.exe runs but nothing happens.

First time i get stuck like this and this sucks, dammit it sucks...
