FPS Drop Toggle Windowed/Full Screen

I have a strange issue that seems like it started after updating my nvidia graphics driver to the newest version (364.72) a few days ago.

Sometimes (it seems to occur randomly) my fps will drop from 60 to ~20-25, and I can actually fix it by toggling back and forth from windowed mode to full screen. I have an i5 processor and gtx 660 graphics card, usually I run the game fine with mostly High graphics settings.

I even did a fresh install of Windows 10 and graphics drivers and everything was fine for about 1 day, then the issue returned. Was wondering if anyone else has had similar issue...it almost seems like my graphics card reverts to the default windows drivers temporarily, or maybe the card is begining to fail??

Is there anything I can do to diagnose this like a log file etc? Thanks!

EDIT: So it seems to be related to Alt - Tabbing to other applications while I'm playing. If I alt-tab to Chrome browser my fps drops down to 22, and I have to toggle the full screen / windowed mode to get it back up to 60.

Thats why I am using 353.62 and my card is GTX 660 Ti. Tis version is best for the card.
Newer versions doesn't work very well.

Is it not normal for a program like Eve to run under rationed resources when not fully focused (like when you're using an out of game browser or Eve is minimized)? I thought that was your OS reallocating process priority to programs that need them more based on what the user is actually using at that moment. I'm not really that tech savvy so I could be simply assuming as much.

Also, you could try adjusting your taskbar's icons that show up next to your system clock, the popup notifications such as the one telling you that you've plugged in or unplugged your headphones tend to slaughter Eve's frame rate nearly as badly as the dust cloud in a mission like Mining Misappropriation...nearly. I Don't know if that's completely true for Win10, but that's pretty much what everyone I know (me included) have experienced running in Win7.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Thanks for the responses, so I ended up uninstalling the new nvidia drivers and installed old version 361.43 which is from December of last year I think, that seems to have fixed it.

Was a strange issue, as I was running missions it would drop from 60 to 20 fps when I would undock from the mission station, so I don't think it was entirely due to alt - tabbing but I'm not really sure, I couldn't reproduce it precisely it would just happen randomly so who knows...

I also have the same issue after upgrading to driver version 364.72. (GTX 680) I'm not particularly fond of the idea of downgrading my drivers for a single game.

plz fix.

Apparently this is a known issue, again.

Do not use the latest Nvidia drivers.

Thought I would let you guys know, I had this exact problem described by Ezlo. I was about to download and roll back to older drivers (since this is pretty much the only game I play), but decided to do a clean install of the new drivers first. When I reinstalled the new drivers on a clean install, Eve started working properly again.

I only had time for about 20 minutes of experimentation though after fresh reinstall. If I run into the problem again I'll come back and post again.
