In the night to March 29, 2016, we saw massive fleet formations clashing into each other in a massive fight for control over the IHub in M-OEE8, region "Tribute". More than 5000 players participated in this battle between defending forces from "The Imperium" and attacking alliances gathered together under the name "Moneybadger Coalition".

After the destruction of a total 3800 ships on both sides worth more than 450 billion ISK during hours of intense battles, The Imperium retreated as the system control was lost to the attacking forces.

Good overview of an unfolding new chapter of EVE player-driven history; months and perhaps years in the making.

Nice new key art for the Citadels expansion... Could we get an even larger version? Perhaps double resolution... ? I'd like to spread it across two screens ;)

This dev blog must be wrong because I'm sure I read that there would never be big battles in Aegis sov after Phoebe.

Nice dev blog, it's always nice to see things we do being reported on. Any chance we could get some more stats on this and maybe other large battles in the future? Shots fired, missles expended, bombs dropped, pods destroyed, most expensive pod and ship losses, etc would all be neat to know Big smile.

Good job biting hard onto Reddit's teats and reposting a screed filled with factual errors.

I like that you used a screenshot to illustrate the player count in the system with the old map. I've just seen in you use your new map in the o7 and it showed again that the new map is complete rubbish compared to the old map.

On another note: Please refrain from boasting about your new hardware. It is still garbage and has not improved the game experience and performance at all; in contrast the regular socket closed disconnects and jumpy performance have made it worse compared to the old server hardware. You can pad your shoulders when you fixed these issues and at the very least made the performances and reliability as good as the old server's hardware.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

So, CCP wants to capitalize this war to bring in fresh blood? Well...

One thing has improved since the last big wars, though. Thanks to the downward evolution of server population, these massive battles no longer involve a mere 10% of the server population, but a whole 15% of it! If that doesn't convinces new players to play the game the right way instead of wasting their time and money with highsec or PvE, little else will do.

If these wars extended till Citadel patch comes out...Whoever will managed to produce the new capital modules in masses will be having the cutting edge "technology" over the rest and most likely will win the war.

Very impressive... But not a word about hardware failures when servers were blocked... Not a worrd about entire fleets were lost because ships have become unresponsive or because they refused to jump the gates. What can you tell about that CCP? I'm sure this does not sound so pleasing to players who wish to join such battles.

Fully agree with you. These issues don't disappear with all changes which CCP has made to servers. Still same lagggs, still same TiDi and non-working ships/modules.

CCP, why not to show true videos of pain which huge amount of players got during this epic battle, even more - in each epic battle in EVE.

I also love how while throwing steadily increasing numbers of players at that server, with no other game in existence having gotten even close to that many players shooting each other at once, we still come to the forums and ***** CCP out for it not going perfectly every single time.

Well... If you declare unlimited scale of battles then it's your fault that you cannot properly handle it. Either limit size of battles or improve software/hardware support.

increasing numbers of players??? I remember 45-60k online on TQ , now it's only 30-35k... so it's better to say decreasing number of players due to laggs, too slow improvement of game, endless promises from CCP which they didn't met or announce of one thing and implementing absolutely another : )))

TIME DILATION or TIDI is pure crap. You clam its a selling feature of EVE but its nothing but a short sighted solution to an ever growing issue.

The problem was the servers were puking when it couldn't handle the load imposed on it by large fleet fights. Additional players were exposed to what is know was "The Black Screen of Death" or a slide show, or my personal favorite, you HIC bubble stays on for hours upon hours preventing you from leaving grid.

CCP solution was TIDI but it only solved one half the issue which is their servers puking, but the players are left with a HORRIBLE experience every-time.

While you think TIDI is the ultimate solution its a short sighted solution that only solved your issues and left the players to deal with horrible game play and mechanics.

Typical CCP respond to any issue in game, fix their issues first, tell their players to bad, our code doesn't do what we want to do so suck it up.

Wow that is some ****** paraphrasing...It is pretty clear that he is talking about increasing number of players online on grid at the same time (Which is true), and not the total population. If you had read beyond the comma you would know this. But hell no, lets play pick and paraphrase.... long live selective reading... when put in the context of this sentence:

the meaning is clear
