Armada of Vulnezia Bulletin: Research Sonax Module

The science and discovery team at the University of Arbelia on Kor Azor have announced new technology that may one day allow for a module capable of probing cloaked ships.

Chief Scientist Tamm Rolat announcement:
"We call this technology Sonax, it works a bit like sonar does in water. Sonax Test Modules were fitted to five Frigates and Destroyers in space, the ships positioned around a star system to then coordinate their Sonax modules to triangulate a position on a cloaked test ship. The results were very positive and we believe Sonax may be a technology that will glorify the Empire and helpful against her enemies."

Sonax technology and the ability to find cloaked ships has been a hot topic of debate throughout New Eden for decades. Such a technology would make cloaked ships have to change strategy and would give greater importance to Frigates and Destroyers in Fleets or for system defense against cloaked enemy scouts.

The office of Government may release more details about this technology in months to come.

Research Minutes:
1. Develop a module to fit on fast ships to hunt and locate cloaked vessels in space.
2. Develop fleet tactics to use Frigates and Destroyers for expelling or eliminating cloaked threats.

But, what if I wanted to take a nap in deep Nullsec? I can't do that if I'm constantly worrying about frig and dessies pinging me in my safe spot...

Exactly what does this device transmit to let it act like sonar? Cloaked ships do not bounce any kind of waveform within the electromagnetic spectrum, so that can't be what's transmitted. Gravitational waves? How does that work then? Quantum doddery?

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

Finding ships that are cloaked ....... Yawn!

Finding a way to target and shoot while cloaked!!!!!

Now that would be a technological advance worth investing time and research energy into because it could impact combat tactics on a large scale, so please continue with your experiments and tests, aka space magic, it should keep you busy for quite a while.
