Moving orbiting stations

I have an idea, not sure if this has been discussed?

What about moving some of the Orbiting Stations onto the planets instead like moon stations,,,,

Why can't we land on the planets?

This would be very cool..

Why would you want moon bases when you can have space stations?

Also moons are so big that it would be near impossible to even spot a 100 km wide station on the surface of a moon or planet.

Besides "cool" how does it make the game better?
What problems are there (besides not being cool) are there in the game that this is supposed to help with?

Stations don't orbit, neither do the planets for that matter. Pretty much every stellar object in Eve is fixed in place.

Yeah, too many claim to speak for the majority when they have no clue what the majority wants.

I'm still waiting on the totally useless "atmospheric flight" feature.
