I'd specifically like to see an in-game stopwatch that slows and speeds up with TiDi. It would also be stupidly useful to have a stopwatch hotkey instead of physically having a stopwatch on my desk like I do at the moment.

Uses:

  • Dictor bubbles
  • Enemy and friendly triage/bastion/siege cycles
  • Enemy aggro/logoff timers
  • WH polarisation timer (You can't see it if you're not sitting on the hole in question)
  • General convenient timing of everyday stuff, eg: "How log does this route from Jita to Amarr take compared to this other route?"

I'm an acquired taste.

Generally I see a lot of bad ideas here, some I understand but don't want, however this one I think would be quite useful.

that seems like an easy fix for the people who would use such a thing, without being any kind of hassle for the people who would not use such a thing.

This isn't a bad idea.

Not sure I would use it over the one on my phone I currently use, but it's a good idea.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Stopwatch connection to TiDi isn't something you could do reliably with any outside tool. Great idea OP!

I would also be interested in seeing a function option for Fleet Commanders to sync stopwatches and watch timer notification rings (maybe a return of the gong sound :P) with squad mates. Voice comms have a delay.

Adding a stopwatch sync option for fleets could be useful in other ways. New Eden racing leagues come to mind.

I thought about it and still don't find anything bad about this, so agreed.

Oh and put it on CCP Karkurs list of little things. Whenever she can do it in a small amount of time, she will Smile

The whole stop watch idea is nothing new, but tying it to TiDi is pretty smart. Could be a good excuse to putting a stop watch app in game.

This is interesting.

A month ago the guy asks for a dictor bubble timer akin to the polarization timer and everyone is like "Hell NO!" "Don't be lazy" "Lern to count" "You suck at eve"

Fast forward to now and it's reworded by adding a few other things that involve time and it's better than a cure for math class boners.

I'm against wasting dev time on an ingame stopwatch when there are literally thousands of third party options available.

Then someone mentioned a stopwatch tied to tidi. This. This I can support.

I'd counter with:

Who cares in tidi, the game is pretty much borked at that point anyway. The only use would be

1. Is there enough time to mow the lawn before I hit another key?
2. Can I complete the Taylor Swift wankoff challenge before I have to press F1 again?
3. Do I have time to go eat before I see if reps land on me in time?
4. Will I be out or siege before or after the final round of the Mr. Fire Island competition.

@Serendipity Lost

Integrating a stop watch sound notification system may be useful here for semi-afk battle management in heavy TiDi.

e.g. set a ring, buzz, gong notification for every 5, 10, 30, etc min of in-game time elapses. Customize sound notification across multiple clients so you can perform your checks more efficiently.

You're right, things are borked in heavy Tidi. I was thinking more about slightly smaller engagements where the occaisional 50% tidi here and there fucks up dictor bubble timings.
