I am drunk and this thread is highly amusing.

In my opinion, armor made for ze womans should probably be roughly the same as armor made for men, as the entire point of a "uniform" is to all look the same. However, allowing more room for one's... assets, has its own merits, as you're probably going to have higher morale if your uniform/armor is at least somewhat comfortable. Given that capsuleers are nigh-demigods who generally have a gratuitous amount of expendable income, it would make sense to have them be able to have tailor-made armor specifically made to fit their particular form, while still allowing for maximum ballistic protection. In any case, I trust CCP's art team. Or whoever does the designing of ze clothes.

(bear in mind boob plate armour is a _really_ bad idea. and leads to things hitting you at weak points. flat plates are better)

This is true only if you're talking about melee, especially sword, combat. For protection against projectiles, which is what you would be worried about in the Eve universe, flat plates are about the worst design you could use.

Not really. Because you don't want to concentrate the force on a single point on the wearers body. No matter what the item. There is a reason modern body armour is 'flat'. Yes it's rounded where appropriate, but you don't want to have all sorts of weird angles for quite a few reasons. Firstly imagine trying to lie prone, climb a wall, or anything like that with a giant pyramid on your chest. Secondly it's flat from a different angle anyway.
So..... you gain nothing and lose a lot by having weird pyramids like that.

I mean, it's really not as bad as I thought it would be. Still pretty constricted though.

Essentially whole armor is just heavier version of regular Valkyrie combat suit. Similarities are easy to notice specially around neck area.

But I agree on chest area of the armor. Not saying that it needs boob plates but current version really does look a bit tight. Roll

The Next Generation in SoE armor!

SOE's Mahou Shoujo program has borne fruit!

They found a way to downsize a Doomsday Device (the much rumoured Befriender) to the size of a staff!

Good reply to this!* **

*Note #1: For the uninitiated...Mahou Shoujo translates to Magical Girl. (Though technically by this series, Nanoha is Mahou Ojou, which translates to Magical Woman.)

**Note #2: The Befriender joke is a reference to the fan joke itself of how Nanoha makes her friends...she blows them/beats them up. Hence..."Befriending"...something us EVE Players should be very familiar with. Lol

You know, CCP, i'd also be pretty happy with getting that drifter outfit.

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

Without having read any of this thread...

We don't have space armour yet but the armour we do have or have used in the past doesn't and never did need special places for **** to fit in. Putting boob shapes in plate armour would have made it harder for the wearer to move in addition to making it "weaker" as armour.

A pyramid shaped chest is actually fairly normal.

I agree however, space armour needs **** because I believe it is really unlikely anyone is going to attack a sister with a sword or polearm and they're purely for aesthetics =p

I think the armour is OK, so does my, non Eve playing, wife.

I'm very disappointed however, with the lack of concern shown about the Velociraptor issue Shocked

Alright seriously, what the hell were you guys thinking? I was looking forward to getting this armor so I could wear it while I fly around in my awesome SoE ships. And then I noticed that the chest is a pyramid. Have you guys ever seen a girl before? Because we aren't built like that!

its hardly new

the design is body armor. so this provides the most protection (rather than seperating the breasts to be cut off by 1 hit to the middle.

also. this is a COMMON female armor design (outside of some fantasy)

considering its SoE, their theme matches this perfectly.

Considering it's all theoretical armor and space fantasy with some hard science fiction thrown in, it could be armored body paint or the armor *is* the capsule (yes, I know that's not the capsule image we see in space, it's just pointing out what the game mechanic 'could' be shown as). It's all a creation of the art department.

Trying to tie past armor designs into distant future designs is an exercise in futility. If I were to read the 'tea leaves' as to what the future would hold, body armors would likely be environmentally secure, close fit, exo-skeletal suits with many layers of defense and the difference between a male or female suit would only be in how it fit the wearer on the inner most 'comfort' layer. Other than that, no difference. That is not what EVE art should be like or look like, it's just what the reality of production and design would come up with.

So, make female suits as sexy or as pedestrian as you want CCP artists, but since sex sells, I can tell you which type would get more attention.

To be honest with you, even in real life, you see sports women running around in their panties. I mean, do you see male runners in their triangular pants or boxers?

Just saying, the analogy is there but this is one of the topics that is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

SoE armor is ok, leave it alone.

I actually like the fact that armor on a female character actually looks, you know, like armor (or rather a protected space suit), and not like a stainless steel bra.

For once a character that's a combat space pilot can look the part.
