EVE Launcher version 1018996

EVE Launcher version 1018996 has the following changes:
  • Fixed an issue with launcher not starting up under Steam.
  • Added a command line argument to allow the initial landing page to be for a different server.
  • Don't pop up dialog for network diagnostics, simply show error in progress update.
  • If user cancels update, the version check will be skipped for the remainder of the session.

    • Windows specific:
  • About... entry in menu moved down the menu.

    • Mac specific:
  • Fixed an issue where Play button becomes active after downloading Wine, before client is ready.
    • [*] Added a fallback path to find X11 libs.

    EDIT: figured it out, the command line is -p sisi for the test server and so on. still doesn't solve my problems though. FRESH INSTALL IT IS BOYS

    I could tell immediately that we had a new launcher, because I can't login, which is CCP's idea of fixing something.

    24 hours later and still having the same problem and "support" has not provided any feedback... total shock.

    Any thoughts on a work around?

    Any patch to fix what you broke?

    Your hinting remarks are a bit above laconic. Can you give us a bit more detail and preferably something useful?

    Finally got logged in!!

    Tthe trick is to bypass your "new" crap launcher to go directly to evefile.eve . This is normally found under:

    C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\BIN\exefile.exe

    Its much much faster to use twitter to get an answer than waiting around for support or an answer on the forums.

    I'm sorry you are having problems logging in. Describing the details of your problem usually works better than antagonising the people you expect to help you, so please, if you are still having issues, provide some details and let's focus on resolving those.

    Did you know that the "crap launcher" gives you the ability to do this much more easily than digging around the filesystem?

    It's too bad your attitude stinks or I'd tell you how.
