Take this advice from The Red Rocker Sammy Hagar, just get on your Bad Motor Scooter and ride...till you see Red.

Hi hi LAGLers!

How about some pictures of an actual spacecraft going to Mars?

That's the spacecraft from ESA's mission ExoMars on its way to Mars! The smaller spots behind it are pieces from the third stage of the Proton rocket that launched the probe. The images were taken from the Observatório Astronômico do Sertão de Itaparica in Brazil, hours after the launch and once the probe was in its trajectory.

Science is cool! Bear

I saw Sammy on his I Can't Drive 55 tour, back in 1984, along with Krokus at the Summit* here in Houston. Free tickets from the wife of a local radio station's program director, up in the highest nosebleed section. She was a regular through my checkstand at the grocery I worked at.

Best song of the night, this large portion of the scaffolding holding up the lights over the stage folded down and Sammy climbed up it to the top of the scaffold, which put him almost at a level with us in the top row, and he sang Zep's Whole Lotta Love.

While the lights were out with him up there with nothing but 4 spots on him, the stage was transformed into the site of a plane crash. When he got back down at the end of the song, via a rope he repelled down with, the lights came up and there was suddenly smoke and fire and pieces of an airplane (tail section, wing, etc.) scattered strategically around and between the amps and drum kit and mic stands.

Probably the 2nd best show I've ever been to.

The first time I saw The Red Rocker Sammy Hagar, he was in the group Montrose who opened for KISS at The Forum in Los Angeles on 2-24-76. That was the very first concert I went to and one I will never forget, including the ride there and back.

I was a Senior in high school and a group of my friends and I all got tickets to see KISS on their 'KISS ALIVE' tour. One of my friends had an old 53 Ford Truck so we put a mattress in the back and some blankets for the ride up and back. On the way there, we had the blanket over us to block the wind so we could smoke some pot. Due to the truck bouncing around, the cherry kept getting knocked off and would fall on the mattress which we would pat out and then relight the joint, doobie, MJ cig, etc.

Unknown to us, the cherry quickly burned through the cloth covering the mattress and started smouldering in the cotton stuffing inside the mattress. We found out about it when one of my friends leaned on a hot spot and practically jumped out of the truck due to getting burned. We had to rip the mattress open in various spots and throw clumps of hot smouldering cotton stuffing out of the truck while traveling on the freeway.

Must have been quite a site to behold since it was right around dusk. By the time we got to the concert, the mattress was full of holes.

We had seats way up in the nosebleed section and right behind us was one of the spot lights which gave us a good view of the stage despite being far away. Gotta say Montrose rocked hard and put on an excellent show. Sammy was up, down and all around the stage. We couldn't believe it. I remember seeing Ronnie Montrose playing what looked like a Stainless Steel Guitar which reflected the spotlight fiercely. I will never forget that.

Then KISS came on stage and put on a HELL of a show. All I could think of, I was watching Demons Of Rock & Roll. They had a killer light-show with lot's of pyrotechnics. That concert was exactly like their album 'KISS ALIVE".

After the concert, we turned the mattress over in the back of the truck for the ride home and yes, the same thing happened again. Cherry would get knocked off, mattress would then be ripped open and chunks of smouldering cotton stuffing would be thrown out of the back of the truck while traveling down the freeway.

Needless to say by the time we got back home most of the stuffing in the mattress was gone. Yeah, I will never forget that concert, definitely ranks as one of the better shows I've had the pleasure to watch in my life.
