Spontaneous event for brussels terrorist attack's victims

Hey everyone,

I'm just trying to put together a spontaneous mining event for the victims of this morning's terrorist attack on brussels. So far, nothing is fixed, only that I really want to do this. I came up with the idea on reddit. So I will need your help. Also, I have some appointements later on that I need to be at.

Who would help me organizing this thing? PLEASE!

We will need a company that is willing to give one Euro per every billion ISK or ten billion isk or something that we will mine ingame today. I already sent out a mail to a marketing guy at gcgames.de, but he/she hasn't responded yet. Maybe anyone got any idea or even contacts/relations to smbdy?

The thing should happen tonight European timeframe.

The money raised will go to the Belgian Red Cross. Or do you know of any other organisation that would be better suited?

Okay, so I guess I will call this off. (And I will not say sth like this was due to your inmoralous minds) I think, it was just not enough time to set sth like this up. Still haven't found any Sponsor, no answers here, nobody on reddit took any actions towards putting this up with me. It would have been a nice thing. But it didn't happen.

Let's just hope, that we won't have another oppurtunity for sth like this too soon.

My thoughts are with the victims and everyone who lost a beloved one, either in Brussels or in Syria or wherever people suffered because of religiously motivated crimes. And I'm sure tht many others think this way.

Alright, I got an idea.

I'm thinking of Morwen Lagaan's Hearth and Home donation event from the Battle of Caldari Prime, the third anniversary of which is today. So here are some ideas taking game mechanics and motivations into consideration:

* Mine To Explode: Have people mine whatever rocks they can, whereever they are, for a week; contract you the ore. Then, you compile it to build something nice or big like a big ship, and go get it blown up in a mass event; the top damage dealt and killing blow get prizes like PLEX or a ship. Everyone who contributes ore or helps you move it gets their name immortalized in this topic.

* Mine For Peace: If you manage to get that sponsor, then you take the ore, and arrange for donations made via that sponsor. The only issue is crediting people in-game; usually, buying the ore helps, and you could turn right around and refine it or sell it so you don't take a market loss.

* Mine For Cash: Simplest idea might be to simply call for ore contracts, pay people the market value of the ore, then sell it so no one loses money; then put their names up in this topic.

Whatever you choose, I'll get Live Events on it.

Recommendations:

-enable ships wobbling in hangar view (pre-Captains Quarters)

-add more missions (NPC fleet vs. NPC fleets that actually shoot)

-STOP NERFING EVERYTHING!

mining event is good idea as many people can help participate in this event but do you think how many contributors we may have 50 - 100 ? we need much more for making this mining event a big thing . does this include ice aswell? wormhole mining possible?
i could sacrifice my proteus to big mining fleet and explode it to miners and the loot/salvage could be donation for the event goal .

This is a great initiative, but as we've expressed in the past, we only use PLEX for GOOD for natural disaster relief, and cannot run the program for relief of any man-made conflict that has been caused by political, religious or military differences.

While our thoughts are with those people who were affected by the attacks in Brussels, we cannot use PLEX for GOOD for this purpose.

lol cant use any program for Brussels, well see when other peoples homes get blown up. if something like that happened in Iceland id bet youd be allowed to do it real fast

He was talking about manmade causes of death. It is not like hurricans or tsunamis or others of earths natural behaviour have anything to do . with . . what . . . mankind . . . . did?!

Maybe falcon means, that plex for good is the only legal way to do something like that?
